Empty.....intercepts per passes

Favre, 30.41 passes per 1 intercept
Marino,33.1 passes per 1 intercept
elway, 32 passes per 1 intercept
manning, 35.3 passes per 1 intercept
c palmer, 32.3 passes per 1 intercept
some guys (stats not found) joe namoth had more interceptions then tds, guys like Jonhy U and Bart Star had like 20 more tds then total intercepts.

Moral of the story, Favre throws more tds per attempt then most guys in the game. Favre also throw an interception every 1-2 pass attempts quicker then some of the greats. So here is my questions Mr. Empty, which cannot be counted by stats. Who had better receivers in their career? How much could have a wideout that doesnt fight to stop an interception, effect your career stats??? There is no stat for that, but the above guys on that list generally had better receivers then brett favre ever did. Also, favre continues to play at hall of fame numbers and consistant with some of today's premier qbs, i would like to see if guys like brady, manning, palmer play as well as they get older and their skills diminish---its a crap shoot at that point, but the moral of my stats was to prove wrong the guy that said favre only has all the records because of how "long" he played which is in fact, untrue as favre has the td record because he throws more tds per attempt then mr. marino....

Your absolutely right, so why do we scrutinize Favre all the time? Just because he can't decide and admitted to making the retirement mistake? Other fans of other teams should be happy of Packer turmoil especially in the NFC. They should keep hoping this saga continues. Pack fans should either have him start or trade him for some picks and end the bickering/nagging.

I gotta hit u with a reply on this one....some solid stats

"Actually, it’s not a fact. He was a top 5 guy LAST YEAR. And before last year he didn’t do much of anything the 2nd half of his career to warrant even half the adulation some of you heap on him. The only reason he holds many of those records is simply because of luck and longevity. He was lucky he didn’t sustain serious injury in his career. He put up those numbers achieving better than average production much of his career. But since he didn’t miss playing time his numbers inflated."

Check out some math i like to use......lets divide pass attempts by tds.......

Favre---Favre Avg 1 td per 19.81 pass attempts
Marino---Marino Avg 1 TD per 19.9 pass attempts
Elway----Elway avg 1 TD per 24.16 pass attempts
Montana---Avg 1 TD per every 19.75 pass attempts
Brady--Avg 1 TD per every 18.48 pass attempts(prior to last year brady avg 1 td per 20.84 pass attempts)
Palmer---1td per 19.58 pass attempts

Basically, how can you state that its just longevity that allowed favre to own the TD record? If you look at comparable players and other hall of famer qbs..........Brett has more tds per attempt that friggin marino and almost as much as montana.....

I really hate seeing tampering rumors fly around without any evidence to support them. It also wouldn't suprize me that it was the Packers organization that was floating those rumors. Why? They realize the following...

1: Bevell is in Minnesota and would love to coach Favre.
2: Many of Favre's old teammates/friends are in Minnesota. (Longwell, Sharper, Ferguson, ect.)
3: The Vikings are a decent QB from being Super Bowl favorites in the NFC.
4: Minneapolis is a short distance from Favre's home.
5: Many people in the twin cities area love Favre.
6: The Vikings have the best situation for a QB in the NFL.
7: The Vikings have the cap space to pickup Favre's tab.
8: Playing for Minnesota would a nice F-U to Thompson and McCarty.
9: No other team would be as good of a situation for an aging veteran.
10: Most Vikings fans are extremely eager to be rid of Tarvaris Jackson.

I don’t see how you can tamper with someone who is retired and under contract for three more years. It could only be tampering if Bret was in a position to negotiate some sort of contract or at least in a position to change teams. But hey news is news, Maybe the NFL would see it differently but you would have to have at least one of the two sides admit to it.

"The fact remains that Brett Favre is a top 5 quarterback coming into the season, and besides the possibilities of him retiring again after one year, some teams are bound to be intrested in the guy that finished 2nd in MVP voting, awarded to the probowl, and took the Pack 1 overtime drive from the SuperBowl."

Actually, it's not a fact. He was a top 5 guy LAST YEAR. And before last year he didn't do much of anything the 2nd half of his career to warrant even half the adulation some of you heap on him. The only reason he holds many of those records is simply because of luck and longevity. He was lucky he didn't sustain serious injury in his career. He put up those numbers achieving better than average production much of his career. But since he didn't miss playing time his numbers inflated.

As for other teams......no team will trade anything for the soon-to-be 39 year old Brett Favre and his 12 million doallar hit (unless he's willing to agree to a serious re-negotiation of his contract). And unless the team cuts him nobody's going to be signing him. And as of last night, he still doesn't even seem to know what he wants to do. In the end I think Favre will stay retired.

"But he is RETIRED! how can you tamper with a retired player?"

He is still property of the Packers since he is on the reserve/retired list. No other team can talk to Favre about him coming to play for them when the Packers have the rights to Favre if he unretires. That is still a clear case of tampering if true.

Since the Packers still have his right throughout the life of the existing contract, whether or not he is retired, it is covered by the definition of a current team. I believe.

For all that is good and holy...please do not let this man come to the VIKINGS. For many reasons: 1.)The Packers will want wayyy too much for him. 2.) He will be a MAJOR distraction. 3.) and most importantly, Mr. Favre is in it for himself. I am convinced that that is the ONLY reason he didn't retire a year ago (he wanted those passing records). He is again proving to me that he is in it for himself. He is being EXTREMELY disrespectful to the Packers, and more importantly their fans. They have treated him like a GOD, since he has been there, and this is how he chooses to repay them, because he indicates that he wants to retire, and they choose to move on without him. Now he wants to come back and is upset that they would use him as a backup. What a joke. He is totally undermining the franchise. They are in a no win situation. If I were Rogers and they brought Favre back, I'd be on the first flight out of town. Although, I really shouldn't be complaining it, with all this discontent it plays right into the VIKINGS hands. That is unless they really do trade for him.

Half-True Proud Monkey. The last 2-3 years in the Vikings Dome has been quite prosperous from Favre, furthermore his Dome stats have improved in the twighlight of his career vs. earlier on. I would say you were correct if this was 5 plus years ago. Realistically though, Favre is coming off one of his top 3 or 4 best performing seasons in his career. Could his skills have dimished? Possibly,or were the two previous "bad" years that Favre endured part of a total makeover led by Ted Thompson. Remember, during TT's first year as GM, he dismantled Favre's probowl offensive line, like Timmerman,Rivera, and Wahle. Also remember that Ahman Green basically fell apart in those years. Remember the Packer's Oline had to keep a tight end back to block on almost every pass play and Favre did not have Greg Jennings, James Jones. I believe this year he had a lot of guys like Shaun Bodiford and Chris Francis and a guy named Brewster I think. The offense was definately changing. If you look now, besides Driver, Tausher, Clifton, the entire offense is different today. Guys like Scott Wells, Jason Spitz, D Colledge/Junius Coston were all new to starting. This last year Favre worked with two rookie FullBacks--Korey Hall and Kuhn. Donald Driver is the only remaining receiver since TT took over. Ahman Green, Najeh Dookie Davenport, and Tony Fisher are no longer the top 3 running backs for the Packers. Last year the Packers started the year with rookie backs in Deshawn Wynn and Brandon Jackson. Also know that TT got rid of Bubba Franks and David Martin, also promoting then 3rd string TE, Donald Lee, to now starting TE. Heck even his qbs, Doug Pederson and Craig Nall got the axe too. Further, a new coach in Mccarthy, the departure of Jim Bates as D coordinator, Jagodsinski as O coordnator left to Boston College.
Don't forget the defense lost Darren Sharper to the Vikings and brought in the bust, Marquand Manuel. Lost K Longwell too.
Moral of the story, and I could keep naming guys and scheme changes, the Packers became a completely new team in 2 years and Im sure some of this effected the aging quarterbacks stats those years.
The fact remains that Brett Favre is a top 5 quarterback coming into the season, and besides the possibilities of him retiring again after one year, some teams are bound to be intrested in the guy that finished 2nd in MVP voting, awarded to the probowl, and took the Pack 1 overtime drive from the SuperBowl.

The Vikings would benifit highly from a guy like Favre especially when you look at Tavaris "Nasty" Jackson. I mean really, they are better off starting Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Brian Griese, Trent Dilfer, Vinny Testeverde, Rex Grossman and the list continues. I think the Vikings probably have the worst quarterback in the leauge.

he would do better there as a homer... but... he hasnt ever been a good dome qb. my opinion is that mobile QBS do worse in domes because they like to run around and there is no noise relief in domes.

of course if he went to minnehaha and they lose two starting ol... he may not be so mobile anymore... 2005 all over again.

///////////////////

bevell wasnt in gb for favre's best years...

shouldnt t-jack be kind of nervous over the idea that bevell is conspiring with favre.

I was unaware that Favre was an active player, putting him in a situation where tampering could occur?

After seeing Bevell yell at Favre on TV after a interception, I wouldn't put too much stock in this rumor. That's not saying Brett couldn't be a Viking, but don't look for him to be coached by Bev.

One thing that just occurred to me is Favre's track record in the dome. Isn't at MIN one of his worst places to play? Hmmmm...worst year under Bevell....crappy in the dome...

Deal him Thompson! You may be elevated to super genius if you dealt him there and he bombs!
