A jury convicted Broncos cornerback Carl Paymah on Wednesday of DUI and careless driving.
The incident arose in May 2006. Paymah was found asleep or unconscious behind the wheel of his Land Rover. The vehicle was running and in gear.
He faces up to a year in jail when he is sentenced on September 16.
Paymah appeared in 15 games last season, starting three. He had 22 tackles and two interceptions.

I’m not proud to say it but I used to drive home after a few drinks. And as terrible as that was, I know I never drove anywhere near the point where I passed out when stopped at intersection with the car in gear. That’s pretty bad.

the crappy thing about DUI’s is that you dont even have to be driving to get one. a friend of mine had a uncle get one because he left the keys in the ignition while he was sleeping his buzz off in a parking lot. the car was off and he wasnt even in the drivers seat. but he still got one for being in the car and having the keys in the ignition.
Paymah should have called a friend or someone to come get him. but if the car was in gear and he was asleep why wasnt it moving? was the parking brake on or something? but anyway, it never should have happened, a cab is so much cheaper then court fees and fines and a chance that you could lose your life.

As a life-long Bronco fan it pains me to know turds wear the uniform. Throw him in the slammer. Memo to any piece of crap that wants to get their drink on. Stay at home and get shit faced or call a cab. If you really want to party hire a limo driver/body guard you can afford it.

I think the Raiders are in need of a driver for Javon Walker.

Darn, I was hoping that Paymah was Pacman’s new name. It would be easy to just change the 2 letters on all those Pacman bathrobes, car seats and stripper pole engravings.

You guys do know this is from 2006, just over 2 years ago, young players change alot in 2 years. Although I’m not saying what he did wasn’t very stupid, but it was from a while ago.

That is too stupid, if you can’t make it home call a dang cab or pass out in the parking lot. How many braincells did he kill, because anybody and their kids should be able to figure out it is a bad idea driving halfway home if you are so drunk you are going to pass out with the engine running at the side of the road.
