The San Francisco 49ers have reached agreement with Chilo Rachal, the team’s second-round pick in the 2008 draft.
Terms were not disclosed.
The former USC guard was moved to tackle by the Niners during offseason workouts. He’s the third draft pick of the team to agree to terms.

To be a bit clearer, he has likely been moved back to Guard (Right Guard specifically). He worked at Right Tackle in OTAs, due to a serious lack of depth behind perpetually-injured Jonas Jennings, but with the post-OTA acquisition of Barry Sims, Rachal is expected to move back. Going into training camp the latest outlook is that Rachal has a shot to win the Right Guard spot from David Baas (who’s out with injury), while Barry Sims and Jonas Jennings will compete for the Right Tackle spot.

Yes, Rachal will be a Guard, but his experience at Tackle will prove valuable when:
1. Jonas Jennings gets hurt (about 30 seconds from now).
2. Barry Sims false starts his way to the bench (about 30 seconds before the snap).
