Adam Caplan of Scout.com reports, and we have confirmed via two sources, that the Ravens and first-round pick Joe Flacco have agreed to terms.
It’s a five-year deal, with a value of nearly $30 million. The deal includes Brady Quinn-style escalators based on playing time. Unlike Quinn, the fact that Flacco is signed before the start of training camp makes it more likely that he’ll be the starter at some point in his rookie year.
The contract also includes $8.75 million in guaranteed money.
Flacco was the 18th overall selection in the draft.

Five years is a good start, but when his contract comes up for renewal, we’ll still be suffering through the Brett Favre “will he or won’t he retire?” circus.

On another angle, shows you what a bonehead Wannstedt is, didnt this kid originally go to Pitt and typical Wanny picked Palko over him. Is Palko still in the league (i know he went undrafted and picked up by the saints). Makes you think that Wanny would get the year wrong if asked when the War of 1812 started.

I don’t get it? What does this story have to do with Brett Favre? Did Brett do sit-ups in Flacco’s driveway or something?

An old defense, a rebuilding offensive line, and a rookie QB.
It could be a long year for the Ratbirds.

Well, genius, considering he has not thrown an NFL pass, of course he is not a top
flight QB at this point. At least he will be in camp and in shape. How is JeMarcus
Russell doing? Will he play QB, OL, or TE for you with his overweight ass?

The Shock Trauma Unit at the University of Maryland Hospital has a room ready for Big Ben (actually he is more like little Ben when compared to Big Joe Flacco) - and with that O-line, you can bet he’ll be making an unplanned visit.
