So, it seems that what Mandarich misses most about the NFL is the cheerleaders?

Doubtful that the Pats keep 4 QBs. Doubtful that they cut O’Connell (or risk losing him to waivers trying to get him on the practice squad) unless he really looks like crap in camp and pre-season. That means that likely either Cassel or Gutierrez will be gone. Since Cassel has so much experience with the Pats offensive system, Gutierrez will need to significantly outperform Cassel in order to stay with the team.
I’m not sure how high a draft pick either would bring in a trade at this point since neither is likely to be viewed as a “proven commodity.” But this could easily change after this preseason, and there are more than a couple NFC teams that could use a QB upgrade at backup or even at starter. And then, of course, there’s the Bucs diabolical plan to rule the NFL by fielding an All-QB team.

The difference between Favre and Sanders (and Favre and anyone who retired for that matter)?
Barry didn’t consider retirement for 6 seasons. He abruptly walked away, and never came back. Barry was/is the exact opposite of Favre, doesn’t want to spotlight, doesn’t want to be the hero, doesn’t scream and flail his arms every time he scores a TD. Barry was all business, Favre is all antics.
The only similarity is that if Barry had have played for as long as Favre, he’d have the majority of RB records (similar to the way Favre has the QB records).

Which means that Mandarich’s favorite show on NFL Network is “NFL Cheerleader PLayoffs.”
