The Giants haven’t settled their contract issues with Plaxico Burress but they will have Mario Manningham on the field when training camp starts on July 24th.

The third-round draft pick out of Michigan officially signed a contract with the team today, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. The report did not have any information about the financial terms of the deal nor did it outline the length of the contract.

Manningham was the leading receiver for the Wolverines last season but saw his draft stock slip thanks to a positive test for marijuana. He initially denied he failed the test but later wrote a letter to all 32 teams acknowledging the truth and apologizing for both the drug use and lying about it. He was also hurt by reportedly scoring a six out of 50 on the Wonderlic test.

With Burress, Amani Toomer and Steve Smith holding down spots on the Giants roster, Manningham figures to battle Sinorice Moss and David Tyree for reps as the fourth or fifth wide receiver.
