According to the Tampa Tribune, free-agent running back Kevin Jones, a first-round pick of the Lions in 2004, will sign with either the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Chicago Bears on Tuesday.

The news came from Jones’ agent, Tony Fleming, who indicated that the list of five interested teams (including the Buccaneers) has been narrowed to two.

The Bears are an obvious choice, given that they cut their own first-round failure, Cedric Benson, and have not replaced him with a veteran tailback.  The Steelers seem to be a more unusual option, given that they have Willie Parker and 2008 first-round selection Rashard Mendenhall.
