Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Johnny Jolly was arrested this week in Houston on felony drug possession charges, the Houston Chronicle is reporting.
Jolly, who is from Houston and played at Texas A&M, was arrested July 8 for possession of at least 200 grams of codeine, the paper reports. He posted bail of $10,000.
Jolly started seven games for the Packers last season. He is recovering from a shoulder injury and has been very limited during off-season workouts.
Neither the Packers nor Jolly has made any public comment about the arrest.

200 grams? That’s a whole lot of product. Methinks one of the Packers strengths from last season is getting thinner by the minute. They better hope to holy hell that Justin Harrell is and stays healthy this year.

Come on Johnny Jolly.
You were a force last year. Batted balls left and right. His injury on special teams was probably the biggest reason the Packer pass rush declined as the year progressed. He brought a great energy to the defense as well. Those of you who watched the Pack games early last season know what I mean. I was looking forward to a big year from Jolly. He is the reason the Packers let Corey Williams get away. And now I find out he is a turd. Felony possession of codine. Put the pills down Jolly, get a good lawyer, and get back in Green Bay and play some football
Jesus Christ

No!!! Come on Mr. Jolly, what are you doing? After all that’s happened in your life and the injury you’re trying to get over, you go and pull a stunt like this? We just traded away Corey Williams! If you can’t play for us, our defensive line is starting to look pretty crummy. Ryan Pickett & Justin Harrell are average players.

Dam it! He is a very good player. Now I’m pissed. I was looking forward to see him play for us this year. I hope that won’t change.
First Favre and now this… I need to get a drink!

A sad case, Terrence Kiel just passed away in a car crash. He had been arrested two years ago for shipping codeine based cough syrup from CA to TX.
Both Jolly and Kiel played college ball at Texas A&M.

They’re probably for his shoulder. We live under tyranny. Cops can pull you over and bust you for having medicine. I’ll believe he was doing something criminal if I hear real evidence to that fact.

This sucks. The whole defense changed when Jolly went out last year. He was a force on the inside. The backups were just bodies.

Nerdmann, you’re right. The codeine was probably for his shoulder.
The nice team physician for the Packers wrote a prescription for Jolly to have enough codeine to put half of the the citizens of Green Bay in a coma (the half that ISN’T already passed out drunk).
Face it, this isn’t Matt Jones getting coked up in a car with two guys. Jolly is either dealing or working with someone who is dealing.

Johnny Jolly was recently named in SI as a player who could have a “break out” season in 2008. Looks like he might have to break out of jail first.

Stay classy packers?
What planet are you from?
From Koren Robinson, to Nick Barnett, to Mark Chmura, to J. Jolly, we have seen the class that GB flaunts.
J. Jolly was a big piece of the puzzle this year, now he’ll be taking a leave of absence of at least 2 games, probably more.
The wind is starting to blow near that house of cards that the packers have assembled.
Next thing you know we will be reading about McCarthy digging up an old horse he used to know….

I can fix that problem in a few phone calls: a) get ahold of Bob Craft and have him trade for a bag of peanuts for jolley b) get ahold of nick kazcur’s attorney & have him talk jolley into “snitchin’” c) call up goodell to let him know everything’s being taken care of and that the league can remove jolley from any discussion’s about possible suspension asap.
Voila!

Now we know why Brett is doing this to take the spotlight away from Jolly. No that’s not it he wants to take the spotlight away from two huge contributers in Superbowl 31 Frankie Winters and Gilbert Brown who are being inducted into the Packers HOF.I forgot Brett is being a big whining baby who has to lie(these are rumors) unlike TT who speaks to the media Brett hides behind his agent Mommy and big brother and let’s them do the talking Brett why don’t you take sometime off with Jolly and help him with his codeine

So if Jolly is gone and now won’t make the Superbowl, does it matter if Rogers starts instead of Favre???
*see how I was able to bring this story back to you, Brett? You’re welcome*
