zygi milf says: but listen, dude - Biqueens DOES NOT denote the homosexual insult you are going after. Stick with the old standard, Viqueens.

ZGYI or whatever,

Hey thanks for the help but I was not after a homosexual insult that you infer so you and your boyfriend Bruce can relax about that. I really meant BIQUEENS, as in going both ways, so much easier to get pounded if you don't have any discretion as to who is doing the pounding.

I love the way those pretty boys in Purple grab their collective ankles every time the Packers roll into town. They are such good hosts, letting Favre throw his record breaking 421st touchdown in front of that 30th ranked pass defense, makes me think the BIQUEENS are really going to the Superbowl as SI has predicted.

Look, if you are going to get insulted everytime someone takes a shot at your team, I would advise turning your attention to women's golf or pro bowling. But if you are going to favor the BIQUEENS, get used to the abuse. My personal favorite is what's the difference between Linda Lovelace and the BIQUEENs, Linda doesn't choke on the big one. If you don't get it, ask your boyfriend, Bruce.

apatients4skinsfan, I can think of a few other things your precious sis-in-law can do for the NFC North and all their fans!!! Probably already has. How did the skins do in the playoffs last year? Did'nt they win their division?? You should never get in a fight when you do not have any ammo to back up your thoughtless moronic statements.
P.S. Loved that game against the Pats last year. You guys were funny!!

Favre won't throw for 400o yards if Thompson trades him to the right team. For instance, a team with an entrenched starter. Favre isnt able to continue the streak. He stays retired. The End.

@ JimmySmith

There it is again, your extremely original derogatory nickmame for the Vikings - the "BIQUEENS". Always in capital letters, too. How fun you must be to be around after the 12 pack of Miller High Life; telling your buddies in that cranberry bog about your scathing nickname for the Vikes.

Maybe you haven't seen my responses in the past to your brilliance, but listen, dude - Biqueens DOES NOT denote the homosexual insult you are going after. Stick with the old standard, Viqueens.

"Jimmy, Joe Montana was also surrounded by HOF’rs."

How many future HoFers did the 49ers have in 1981 and 1984? Three, including Montana. Farve might have had more if he hadn't ended a lot of guys careers early.

How the hell do these "journalists" even get their gigs with such tunnel-vision opinions? Packers management won't be feeling the heat from anything Favre does with any other team next year or beyond, because any real playoff threat is already set at QB. The Vikes? Please. Vikings management isn't going to derail the development of Jackson to make a quick run with a 39 year old player who doesn't have more than 1 or 2 "good years" left in him.

The Bears? They won't be a Super Bowl team next year with or without Favre. Nobody that has a chance of doing anything next year is going to replace their current QB for Favre. And Favre isn't going to turn a potential playoff team into an instant SB contender. The man had one good year and everybody thinks he's the Favre of 15 years agao again. LOL. I bet if he comes back he'll once again become Mr. Pick Six.

i love how people try to make favre out to be washed up, after the numbers he put up last year. and then you say he was lucky or it was a "career year" like it is a bad thing. its amazing how some people are so against the notion of favre coming back or even being better than their favorite player that they convince themselves that he isn't that good. MOONBEAM yeah he through an interception that ended up leading to the giants win. but it sure as hell wasnt an "ill-advised" pass as jimmysmith put it. it was just a bad throw. it was single coverage and favre and driver werent on the same page, plus favre just made a bad throw(too far inside-if he leaves it outside its either an incomplete pass or a reception.) yeah he chucked one up earlier in the game that the giants gave right back. bottom line is that brett favre was easily a top 5 QB last year and you could argue that he was top 3. as far as TT not thinking he can get it done in the playoffs, what is a better option. having a guy who you KNOW can get you to the playoffs and MAY not be able to get to a SB? or have ing a guy who MAY be able to get yuo to the playoffs and then WHO KNOWS what will happen?

if favre wants to come back, TT has no choice but to bring him back. the risk of cutting him loose and winning with rodgers is much much greater than te risk of bringing him back and letting rodgers go/sittinghim and prolly losing him in 2010.

Yes Farve throws more post season picks than anyone I can remember. But he would still be considered a top 10 QB. Really. There just aren't very many good QB's in the league right now. KC, Miami, Atlanta, Balt, SF, are the first teams that come to mind. I would think they would all benefit with Farve on the roster. Those teams would probably consider making the post season a success at this point. I still feel Brett will play somewhere warm this season. How about this...Miami sends Jason Taylor, and Ricky Williams to Cincy for Chad Johnson. Miami would also have to give a conditional pick to GB for Farve. Sounds interesting. Matched with Ronnie Brown and a rebuilt O-line, and CJ, Farve may last a few more years. (And I'm a Pats fan.) The AFC east would once again be a credible division.

Or, Brett Favre can come back, throw for 4,000 yards, stay a few more seasons with the packers, and destroy Aaron Rodgers' career.

“If Favre throws for 4,000 yards and takes a team deep into the playoffs while the Packers struggle, it could destroy careers for those who made the decision to cut him loose.”

What if he throws 29 interceptions and the team doesn't go to the post season? GM's, coaches, and other team executives have to make tough decisions every year and unless they're named Matt Millen they are held accountable.

This Favre coming back talk reminds me of the TO debacle a few years ago. Dominated the press coverage to the exclusion of other compelling story lines, but the press continued to run with the saga because it had traction. It's easy to report the latest minuscule details of big stories but harder to find new stories that the public will pay for with their eyeballs / interest. It's all a great bore for the craving NFL news fans but understandable for news outlets to continue to propagate the storyline.

I think 80% is conservative as well
McCarthy has informed favre that he is putting the organization in a predicament, NO, TT has put GB in this predicament. If TT is so aloof that he doesn't understand that the QB position is still the most important position on the field, then GB gets what they deserve.
GB is filling up with the ghosts of Christmas past.
The ghost of Favre will haunt Rodgers/GB for decades
The ghost of Ron Wolf is actually MOVING back to GB just to mess with his protégé TT.
This might just be a first, somebody actually moving BACK to Green Bay. He must be a masochist. I predict that Wolf will spend a day in GB before he realizes the error of his way and moves to Uzbekistan for a better quality of life.
Favre will play again, but not for TT
Green Bay will take their rightful place at the bottom of the NFC North. Packer fans can get used to Minnesota, Detroit, and Chicago using Green Bay to pad their win total.

Jimmy, Joe Montana was also surrounded by HOF'rs. Name one Offensive HOF’r that played with Favre in his 17 year career.

It's funny you mention Favre's playoff loss as the "4th and 26th" one. Well, you don't think that 4th and 26th had something to do with it. Favre played great that game and Favre and the Pack had that game won in regulation, at a place they never won before mind you (and a D-coordinator that has always had Favre's number). They had it won that is until Sherman decided not to go for it on 4th and 1 to seal the victory with the best running Offense the Pack ever had. Then of course the 4th and 26th debacle followed that.

What about against the Giants? Well, the Packers got beat in every aspect of that game, including only 13 yards of running support to take the pressure "off" Favre. And lets not forget that this is the same Giants D who made Romo look bad and made Brady look worse then Favre did. Should both of them retire too?

If Favre comes back and plays for a different team, it almost guarantees something will be destroyed.
If he plays great, Thompson's career.
IF he plays terrible, his legacy - which he's already doing as much as possible to mess up.

Hold on one minute there. I visit Packers.com regularly. A website run by the organization. For the last several weeks the picture on the homepage was of the defense, Hawk, Woodson, Barnett, Harris, and Kampman.

Now Favre is front and center!!!!!!!!!! This is a recent change is the last few days.

This must mean the webmaster for the Packers think Favre is coming back.

Come on Florio??!?!? Isn't this article worthy?

Good point. Counterpoint - if they do bring Favre back and Rodgers gets so pissed off for riding the pin again he vows never to return, then the only salvage can be a Superbowl ring. Otherwise, Favre will "retire" again and a team that could be a perennial
(if the coaches believe Rodgers is that good or good enough) contender is no QB-less.

Ever stop to consider the possibility that TT thinks that Favre can’t get it done in the playoffs? You can quote me Favre’s HOF stats up and down the line but in the end, its how many playoff games can you win.

Joe Montana is a classic example of that. Don’t get me wrong, he was a very good QB but he cemented his legacy in winning 4 Superbowls, not what he did in the regular season games (which wasn’t bad either, but just not off the charts great)

IMO, TT looks at this team and asks himself the single question, “How can we go further in the playoffs?” I think he looks at Favre’s recent playoff games (the duck he threw up for grabs in the 4th & 26 playoff loss to Philly and most recently the ill-advised toss to give the Giants a ticket to the Superbowl) and thinks it is time to embark on the Rodger’s era in GB. Not necessarily just because he drafted him, but because Favre’s brain farts in these big games are costing the Packers an entire season.

I mean if the guy is going to choke in the big games, maybe sending him to the BIQUEENS is the answer, that’s their long standing tradition and should welcome him with open arms.

Chances are Favre is not going to have the same kind of success this year. It was a "career year" for him, meaning he basically had better stats last year than any of his other 17.

where ever farve ends up,there can't be any upside to a
39 year old quarterback with extended milage on his body.
the other question is wheather he still has the skill set
to take a team to the promised land.see the last pass he
threw in an nfl game.game,set,match.
