Former Giants quarterback Phil Simms recently said that he hopes that quarterback Brett Favre doesn’t unretire.

And, like Favre himself, Simms has now changed his mind.

Appearing this morning on The Dan Patrick Show, Simms said that he thinks Favre should come back.

As legend has it, it was Simms’ comments to Sirius NFL Radio in 2006 that prompted Favre to decide to continue to play:  “Play as long as you can.  When you think it’s over, play another or two years . . . because life after football, it’s forever.”

Actually, the talk about Favre playing or not playing is what’s truly “forever.”
