Favre would never go to Miami, because he’d have to go to a contender if he went elsewhere. Plus, Miami’s three quarterbacks are set for the season.

That story from the Miami Herald is ridiculous. It suggests a 1 for 1 swap of Brett Favre for Jason Taylor. The article fails to mention that Favre wants to play for a contender and Taylor wants a larger market with a stable QB situation. This is just one of several recent wholly unrealistic stories from the Herald. It really makes you wonder what they’re paying the writers for, to report stories or write fiction.

I wonder if Dallas would consider J Lo. Of course the Hefty LEfty is rather unproven, but knows the NYG offense inside and out. Seems like a possibility anyway.
I wonder if the Giants sent Osi with Brees to try to strongarm them into a better trade. Hmm…
This just in: The Saints have offered Marques Colston, Deuce McAllister, and a first round draft pick for Jeremy Shockey!

The Packers should work out a trade with the Cowboys to send them Brett Favre. GB gets rid of a potential headache and passes it on to their rivals, the Cowboys. Tony Romo will love the help. LOL!

Maybe John Tomase is now writing for a different Herald.

If Favre wants to go to a contender that’s not the Packers, he’s going to have to be willing to settle for a backup role because any other team that could be considered in the hunt for a Super Bowl already has an established QB.

Concerning Lofa Tatupu, is it just me or does it seem like the whole “personal conduct” rule has been abandoned? The dude plead guilty, right? What is Rog waiting for?

Numerous teams would vault into the hunt with a real QB. Minnesota, for instance. Da Bears. BF could be an upgrade at several other locales. But at this point, is BF worth all that and a bag of chips, especially if he isnt going to put in the prep time needed…

As a fellow King Phillip graduate, I hope Lofa doesn’t make the mistake again. We were always known as the “pothead high school” now we will be known as the “DUI” high school.
Although we do have more current players in the NFL than any other Hockomock HS, except Foxboro (See Tom Nalen)
I miss living in Massachusetts so much, missouri sucks.

I agree with empty13 - Favre could definitely elevate a couple of potentail Wild Card teams into legit division contenders. The Vikings and Bears immediately come to mind, but I doubt that he would go to a rival via trade. (if released, he might sign with one to spite Ted Thompson, though). Miami is still 2-3 away from contending for a playoff spot, but teams like the Bills, Jets, Ravens, and even Chiefs have strong enough defenses to compete now if they had better QBs.
As for the Cowboys backup QB search, I’m sure Daunte Culpepper would hold a clipboard for a cool million. Byron Leftwich might too, if the clipboard is holding menus.

If I were Taylor, I would love to stay in Miami. Still young, nice looking and tons of money…and then there’s the topless beaches. Sounds like a recipe for perfection to me.
