TMZ.com is reporting that some Eagles are being brought into a lawsuit between a woman whose daughter is disabled and a New Jersey restaurant accused of not providing adequate parking for people with disabilities.
The lawsuit, which accuses the Landmark Americana Tap and Grill of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act, says that “[o]ne notorious incident involves Philadelphia Eagles football players Donovan McNabb and Jevon Kearse using reserved spaces at Defendant’s business premises.”
TMZ reports that former Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter is also named in the suit as someone who parked in reserved spots. And TMZ says McNabb was fined by a judge in 2006 because his vehicle parked in the Landmark’s handicapped spots, although McNabb wasn’t driving.
NFL players often need crutches after leg injuries; it is not clear from TMZ’s report whether McNabb, Kearse, or Trotter
were on crutches at the times they’re accused of parking in handicapped spaces.

It has been a while but if I recall correctly they were there for a promotional appearance and the bar owner had “reserved” those spaces for them to use. Obviously the bar owner does not supercede any legal authority and was wrong. I thought they had paid their fines and moved on. Is this really an issue? I think McNabb sucks as much as the next Eagles fan, but I think it was more of a bad decision than McNabb laughing at all the poor disabled children not able to park there.

True Story >>> This woman is a friggin nut job.
A few months ago I was leaving municipal court and saw a young woman banging her head repeatedly against the side of a parked car with an older woman standing nearbye. I asked the older woman if she needed any help. Her answer….”This building is supposed to have a handicap elevator at the main entrance”. So I then asked her if she was with the woman STILL banging her head against the car. Her answer….”Yes she is my daughter ….and…Do the police in this town enforce handicap parking?”.
She then proceeded to tell me she drives all around south jersey looking for people parked in handicapped parking spots.
So then it struck me that she probably is the person who nailed McNabb months earlier…..so I asked her.
Her answer…”Yes I did……and a cursed him too. He hasn’t had a good season since I got him”.
This woman is nuttier than her FULL GROWN daughter who was banging her head against the car. The daughter was not in a wheel chair….she had some type of mental issues (like Florio).
Bottom line….If my kid was as screwed up as hers…..I think I could find better ways to help out….then go on handicap parking missions

I see sales reps here in a company parking lot with an undeserved sense of entitlement do the same thing, so I am not shocked to see an ‘elitist’ athlete do the same.
Maybe someone on the field will fulfill their wish and make them legitimate handicapped folks…

1. LOL @ fretileoctogenarian - that’s hilarious.
2. Has anyone ever seen how people park in South Philly?
3. Does this make McNabb and Trotter Turds now? Kearse already earned his brown.

The thing is, it takes more than a pair of crutches and a broken leg to be allowed to park in handicapped spaces.

Wait, I call bull$hit on Spanky’s post. There is no way anyone has McScabb on their fantasy roster.
And, mdel1120, GFY. Of course, I didn’t read the article. Any opportunity to spout off about the E-Girls is good enough. By the way, I’m not a jerk, just a dooche.

This is a perfect example of athletes being way too much under the microscope. WHO CARES? McNabb wasn’t even the one who did it; it was just a car that was registered to him.

I doubt this would be an issue if they had a placard. And anyone who has one knows how easy they are to get. In some places, you just have to say you need one to get one.

McNabb will stay healthy this year.
So he won’t have to drive around town in the Recreational Ambulance with the missing Handicap tags…
So no more tickets like that.

What? Doesn’t playing for the Eagles automatically qualify you as handicapped? What term would you use if you had to play for the Lions? Insane?

Taco Bill is totally correct. A friend of my got nailed by her and had to go to court. She drives around and looks for people to fine. She stops at each and every store on a block, even if she never shops there, and checks their handicapped spaces and access. My friend had to go to court and he said that she lost 6 cases in a row including his. This story should have nothing to do with McNabb and everything to do with this nub job who runs around and wastes the courts time and money. For all you who think this mother is doing a good thing, think again. She is taking a good cause and turning it into a mockery of the court.

These guys are jerks for parking in a handicapped spot without permits, PERIOD. With the money they make they could have someone drop them off at the door, but no. I have bad back problems, am on pain killers every day, and occasionally collapse to the floor, so I walk with a cane. I could get a handicap placard, but I won’t, because other people deserve it more, and I can manage. One of my housemates has a placard for our car, as she is in a wheelchair. I could probably get away with using hers, and the car has handicap plates, but I STILL won’t use the spot unless she is with us.
Grow up and be MEN, not just spoiled children who play a tough sport.

I have never understood why healthy people park in handicapped spaces in the first place. Most of the time its at a shopping mall. Why do you need to park by the door just because its close when all you are going to do IS WALK AROUND INSIDE THE MALL FOR TWO HOURS.
I live near a major theme park and notice people doing it there as well. People are going to be walking around for ten hours anyways - whats another couple hundred feet?
