According to Plaxico Burress, the road to a new contract with the Giants looks obstacle-free and should be completed in time for the start of training camp.

Speaking at a book signing for his new tome about the Super Bowl season, Burress said that there was “no question” in his mind that a new deal would get done before Giant camp begins.  “I’m getting good feedback,” Burress told The New York Post about a new deal.  “I think it’s going to get done.  I’m not concerned about it.  I don’t want to go anywhere, I’m happy here in New York, I just want to make sure I’m here for a long time.”

He has three years and $10 million left on the deal he signed with the Giants before the 2005 season.  Less than a month ago, Burress made similar statements on a Philly radio show but, obviously, no deal has been signed in the interim.  He also said that his knee and shoulder were totally healthy and deemed his ankle “90 percent” recovered from the injuries of last season.
