According to Plaxico Burress, the road to a new contract with the Giants looks obstacle-free and should be completed in time for the start of training camp.
Speaking at a book signing for his new tome about the Super Bowl season, Burress said that there was “no question” in his mind that a new deal would get done before Giant camp begins. “I’m getting good feedback,” Burress told The New York Post about a new deal. “I think it’s going to get done. I’m not concerned about it. I don’t want to go anywhere, I’m happy here in New York, I just want to make sure I’m here for a long time.”
He has three years and $10 million left on the deal he signed with the Giants before the 2005 season. Less than a month ago, Burress made similar statements on a Philly radio show but, obviously, no deal has been signed in the interim. He also said that his knee and shoulder were totally healthy and deemed his ankle “90 percent” recovered from the injuries of last season.

once again here is another example of an over rated player in the NFL. Just like i said in my post about Brady and Manning( Both of which still suck and BIG BEN is better than both of them…Go Stillers) He is overrated, he wants a new contract because the CB sliped on the coverage and he caught a lob pass? are you kidding me?? go back to the take and watch how close he came to not getting both feet in the endzone. please Plax why dont you try and actually make it to practice and better your self as a player and then come back and talk about a new contract.
oo and did anyone here that this clown wrote a book?

You can make your head hurt thinking about these guys who are so insulted that they outplay their contract. They won’t show up and if they do they may half ass it.
But I think that Burress is different. He really did outplay his contract and he really laid it all out there. And the Giants wouldn’t have won without him. So maybe it is some pay for last year and maybe it is acknowledging that the man proved himself.
And it ain’t my money. Put a few hundred PSL his way.

Let me guess - he wants a contract like the one’s Moss & Owens received.

99% of the time I would say that the player is being selfish, but once i heard of the Giants ridiculous psl scheme to bleed more money from their fans, I realized that plax picked an oppertun time to pull this stunut. Get your money plax, the Giants are bleeding their fans for every dollar. The least the Giants can do is sign their stars for all those fans that are being robbed at gun point by the ownership/ management of the /Giants.

whocanitbenow: Actually Plax has stated that he doesn’t want a contract like Moss or Owens, just one that pays him like a #1 receiver. And hopefully this gets done, the guy played his heart out last season on a bum ankle and deserves the pay bump much like Chris Snee got and (hopefully) Osi Umenyiora has coming.
