The Oakland Raiders, who have had an active offseason thus far, could be looking to add even more players.
Per Bill Williamson of ESPN.com, the Raiders want to add depth at defensive tackle.
To do so, they might pursue a couple of former Raiders — Sam Adams and Grady Jackson.
Jackson spent his first five NFL seasons with the Raiders, from 1997 through 2001, and Adams was a member of the 2002 edition of the team, which made it to the Super Bowl.

You can say old or past their prime, but it’s a VERY smart move for a Raider team thin at DT.

Veteran depth is always a good thing. On the other hand, you gotta wonder since this comes after:
Signing Terdell Sands to a big contract a year ago
Trading for Gerard Warren
Signing Tommy Kelley to huge contract in the spring
Drafting Darren McFadden instead of Glenn Dorsey or Sedrick Ellis

because they don’t have a hall of famer owner, drafted a QB, sign/draft WRs, OL was much improved last year and we have howard and morrison (some of the better LBs in the league) on our team as well.
we need depth at DL and OL thats about it.

jeez sam adams is still playing? Well I guess its good to have more depth- though drafting Glenn Dorsey when he was available would have been much much much wiser.

Grady Jackson still has some downs left in him and would go a long way to strengthening a run defense that will now be attacked even more with the addition of DeAngelo Hall.

bill belicheck goes trolling for other people’s wives and other teams signals and other ways to cheat such as falsely reporting injured players
the pats should go trolling for dolphins highlights because that’s a real undefeated season.
the pats troll for HGH regularly
the police troll for pats offensive lineman regularly
tom brady goes trolling for flowers regularly because he is wipped by a anorexic model who used to date leonardo dicaprio
if the league makes a list of the dirtiest players, most coaches troll for rodney harrison
bruschi and seau are trolling for their AARP cards as we speak

I think we should bring back Sam Adams !!!
Hes a Monster of a man … he would be a awesome 2nd string DT behind Tommy Kelly !!!
Warren Sapp Said Tommy Kelly is gonna be a beast in the middle when hes 100% !!!
Having Sam Adams & Tommy Kelly would awesome !!!
Plus we could put Sam Adams in the NT position on 3 man lines haha hes Huge Centers in the League will be crapping in there paints when he lines up in front of them LOL
our 2008 DT’s should be Tommy Kelly , SAm Adams, Gerrad Warren,Josh shaw
Kiffin says Josh has been playing awesome in camp …
Im Also looking forward to seeing Greg spires on the field for us hes a beats !!!
2008 starting line Derek Burgess Tommy Kelly Sam Adams Greg spires
I would like too see the Oakland Raiders make a attempt to trade for Albert Haynesworth
but if not lets get Sam Adams !!!

Sam Adams is done but Grady Jackson still has some gas left in the tank.
This would be a real good move for the Raiders, in my opinion.

What I see is most of the moves that have been made by the Raiders this off season have smart. What I don’t think was wise is throwing the big coin at some of those players who haven’t proved they deserve that type of money yet.
We’ve all seen it were players sign a fat contract and before the ink is dry, instead of hitting the gym, or at the facility working on technique, they are plopped down on the couch with their PS3 playing M07. That is where you’ll fine them before manditory camp, and they lose the hunger to succeed. In their mind and heart, they just made it…
Getting back to the original message…since the Raiders are also one of the younger teams, it would could aid in having those vets in the locker room. It isn’t like they would be signed to contend for starting positions. If they could sign them for the veteran league minimum, the downside is low.
What the Raiders need to do first is get their other draft choices signed.

Grady is a quitter.
Oakland now suffers from Detroit-itis (which predated M2).
Overpay to get anybody to come on over!
