The NFL’s supplemental draft has been one of the highlights of the offseason.
Well, not really.
But for those of you who look forward to the bizarre silent-auction-style process that allows NFL teams to use one or more of their picks from next year’s draft early, there won’t be a supplemental draft this year.
49ers G.M. Scot McCloughan told NFLDraftScout.com that the plug had been pulled, due to a lack of applicants.
As in, well, none.
Last year, there were ten eligible players. Two were drafted, including tackle Jared Gaither, who is in line to take over for Jonathan Ogden in Baltimore.

Too bad, was always a wierd thing.
The few mocks that are done often have someone go in the 3rd who doesnt get drafted and never mentions the one guy that does go in the 3rd.

Gaither was the steal of the 2008 draft for the Ravens. They only spent a 5th rounder, and got to train him for a whole year. There is no way he would have dropped out of the first round had he worked out at the combine with the 8 other tackles taken. He is 6-9 350, and had a great game vs Mario Williams when Mario was a Sr and he was a freshman.
I thought the other teams had already stopped using the supplimental draft when they only had to spend a 5th rounder on a potential franchise LT.

Mario Williams was drafted as a Junior…
and Gaither had a pretty insane career at Maryland. He gave up 0 sacks on 583 snaps, ALL AT LEFT TACKLE! And he only committed two penalties.

With the first pick of the 2008 supplemental draft, Rodney Harrison selects: HGH!
With the rest of the picks, the 2004 Carolina Panthers select: all of the other supplements! All of them.

Burrito,
HGH is not a supplement. It is a hormone. Also, steroids aren’t supplements, they are drugs. MOst supplements are allowable by the NFL, and are legally purchased at Vitamin and Supplement stores.
