We’ve been able to confirm via two sources the names of the rookies who were involved in a symposium slugfest.
The players were Aqib Talib and Cory Boyd. Talib was a first-round pick of the Buccaneers; Boyd was a seventh-round selection of the same team.
The players were in a budget and finances meeting, where rookies from four teams were gathered. Talib and Boyd had been jawing at each other for a while, and it came to a head during that specific session.
Few are surprised by the development. Boyd was suspended by South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier in 2005. Boyd was forced to apologize upon returning in 2006, after scoring a touchdown and uttering for the camera, “I’m back! I’m back liked cooked crack!”
Talib’s draft stock fell due to repeated positive drug test results while at Kansas. As one league source explained Talib to us on Wednesday night, “Trouble just follows Talib. . . . He can’t help himself, and it’s never his fault.”
It’s unknown whether the players were or will be disciplined.

Legitimate.
Cory Boyd is a punk. What a waste of talent. I hope he gets what is fair.

Neither Talib not Boyd surprise anyone, but the fact that they were fighting eachother, at an NFL event, despite being teammates IS a surprise.

Another proud day for my Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
So they were in a “Budget and Finances” meeting, and it was a fight between a 1st round pick and a 7th round pick. It is hard to imagine that fight NOT having to do with finances itself.

It’s never his fault. Sounds like a pit bulls owner right after it kills a kid; “It has never bit anyone before.”
Cooked crack? Does cook crack come back? Wow, MC Booger Boyd in da Hizzouse!

Talib? Sweet, I was sorta sore that the Texans passed on him. Looks like they stepped over that land mine, good for them.
If Adam Jones is really serious about changing his image, he should have a heart-to-heart with Talib so hopefully he doesn’t end up making similar mistakes. I’m sure that’s too much to ask, considering Jones was just given a second chance in the NFL only to turn right around and throw salt into Don Imus’ wound. That too would’ve been a fine time for Adam to show some maturity and state something other than “I was offended. I’ll pray for him.” He almost came off as smug; glass houses, you know?
I hate to say it but the ‘Boys have “implosion” written where their Star should be…

The seventh round guy will be out of the league sooner than the other turd.
It is a sure bet that these will be showing up again in Turd Watch and giving their team plenty of points.
Roger Goodell is not as wimpy as Tagliabue but he really hasn’t “cracked down’ all that much.

Jagoffs like these are becoming commonplace. It is becoming tiresome. If it continues, which it most likely will because there is no shortage of jagoffs in this industry, paying customers will eventually lose interest and turn to other activities/specatator sports for entertaiment. It may take a while but it will happen.
This shit is simply getting old!

“It’s never his fault.” Yes it is. By the choices you make, good and bad, things happen. If you make stupid choices, stupid things happen to you. If you make good choices, good things happen. You do have control, to some extent. He didn’t HAVE to get into with the other guy. He can avoid trouble by just acting like an adult instead of a two year old.

Well, the good news is that they’ll have Jerramy Stevens around to mentor them on how to conduct themselves in society. Oh, wait, never mind.
SirSuper, we have more evidence of another team, in the Bucs, having out of control thugs and you spin it to bash the Cowboys? Take a look at the big goose egg in the Turd Watch column for the Cowboys.

they deserve to be suspended for atleast 1 game. They can’t even act right at a league function and knowing they are on the same team. i wouldn’t even sign them. Why waste youur money along with the 1st rd pick.
