We’ve been able to confirm via two sources the names of the rookies who were involved in a symposium slugfest.
The players were Aqib Talib and Cory Boyd. Talib was a first-round pick of the Buccaneers; Boyd was a seventh-round selection of the same team.
The players were in a budget and finances meeting, where rookies from four teams were gathered. Talib and Boyd had been jawing at each other for a while, and it came to a head during that specific session.
Few are surprised by the development. Boyd was suspended by South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier in 2005. Boyd was forced to apologize upon returning in 2006, after scoring a touchdown and uttering for the camera, “I’m back! I’m back liked cooked crack!”
Talib’s draft stock fell due to repeated positive drug test results while at Kansas. As one league source explained Talib to us on Wednesday night, “Trouble just follows Talib. . . . He can’t help himself, and it’s never his fault.”
It’s unknown whether the players were or will be disciplined.

‘Back like cooked crack’ could be from Juelz Santana, who has a few mixed tapes with the same name. Just fyi.

Aww man… A Couple of Commentaries on that:
Unfortunately, Cooked Crack will probably be back.
But if we are fortunate,
Cory Boyd will prove that this is only the
Tip of the Iceberg and then, he will not be back…
Meanwhile, did Aquib Talib just set a New Record for how fast a player can just barely not blow it in the draft and then turn around and almost blow it before training camp even starts…?

Talib will soon learn that Chucky’s Dog House is not a pleasant place…

Fighting in the off season? If that’s the worst thing they do sign em. Unless you prefer choir boys on your team?
They ‘ll probably be best friends next month.

this article is not really fair towards Boyd I know for a fact. What he was suspended for at South Carolina was never actually released so no one really knows what it was and Boyd owned up to it and said he was in the wrong and deserved it. The comment about “crack” was out of line but lets face it, bigger name players have said worse. I like how they didn’t mention how Boyd was a model player and teammate as a senior. He turned out to be a great leader with a huge heart. But of course, good news doesn’t sale.
