The NFL’s rookie symposium often provides a little offseason intrigue.
In 2004, the late Sean Taylor was fined for not showing up. In 2006, Titans running back Lendale White asked former NFL defensive lineman Esera Tualo, who came out of the closet after his career ended, “Is it offensive if I call you a faggot if you are a faggot?” Last year, Ravens quarterback Troy Smith asked Commissioner Roger Goodell when or if he’ll begin to focus on some of the positive things about NFL players.
This time around, things got physical.
A league source tells us that, at the 2008 rookie symposium, two players (who’ll remain nameless for now) got into a fight. The incident was broken up by Rob Davis, a former long snapper who currently serves as the Packers’ director of player development.
As the source said, “They were told not to let the incident leave the room, but it did.”
We might eventually identify the players. For now, we’ll tell you that one of them was a first-round draft pick.

And one more thing Florio, I remember about a year or two ago you promised us you had a juicy rumor about a romance between an NFL player and a woman in the media. Do you recall? Go into the archives if you don’t. You never told us.
How can we be assured you will tell us?
I bet my buddy $100 that we would never would find out.

If it were someone in the top 10 it would have been posed as more of a bombshell. Defensive players are most often the aggressors in inter-squad fights and the same may be true here. I think it’s probably a DT or OL taken in the bottom half. Cherilus or Kentwan Balmer?

This is like high school where everyone gathers around the people who are fighting to see who it is to either cheer them on or shake their heads. Why do we care?

The fight was probably between McFadden and Durant Brooks, and the result was probably McFadden getting beaten up like a little girl.

C’mon all of you. You are all crazy. Think about it, which NFL Team has picked the most horse’s ass players in the last 4 years than any other??
One of them was Keith Rivers. It has to be. I don’t care what you say about him, if they pick a player, something about his life is messed up.
and this is coming from a Bengals fan……

This site is sponsored by the NFL.
This story proves the NFL actually LOVES turds because turds generate pub.
Instead of paying the $1.99 to get the domain name NFLGawker.com, the NFL just pays Florio.
Good for you, Florio!

LOL - Keep telling yourself that-maybe you’ll believe it some day. The raiders have been irrelevant for about 20 years and the “raiders nation” idiots with all that glittery face paint and wild costumes makes you guys look more like San Francisco “Pride Day” participants rather than football fans

Speaking of the past drama at these rookie symposiums…Lendale White should have kept his fat, “soft-looking” face shut - that would have been the smart thing to do. These homophobes should know that when they make these type of remarks, they are drawing attention to themselves - and let’s just say that they wouldn’t like the nature of some of that attention. Gaydars abound, and we all know who some of the worst homophobes are.

I thought White’s comments were pretty funny. The PC Police need to get off their high horses. And Iron City, I’ve lived with Steelers fans all my life and nobody epitomizes the SanFran spirit like you do.
