Falcons wide receiver Joe Horn would like to leave Atlanta for a playoff contender and/or a team that envisions him as a starter.
But he also understands that there may not be much of a market for his services.
“Asking for a draft pick for a 36-year-old at my salary is kind of hard,” Horn said today on ESPN Radio in Dallas, per the Dallas Morning News.
Horn reiterated that he would like to play for the Cowboys, but he said his agent hasn’t heard any word that the feeling is mutual. Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff has previously said that he hasn’t had any contact with the Cowboys about trading Horn.
Horn is due a $2.5 million base salary this year. Last year he started 12 games for the Falcons and caught 27 passes for 243 yards and one touchdown.

“Last year he started 12 games for the Falcons and caught 27 passes for 243 yards and one touchdown.”
Those are not starter numbers, especially for $2.5 million.
Of course, Terry Glenn received $5 million for 4 plays last year.

The main reason he wants out of Atlanta is because he gets no cell phone reception in the GA Dome haha.
Seriously tho, I knew Atlanta was bad last year, but those numbers are terrible! 36 years old, if that’s all he has left he should just retire.

And to think… only a couple years ago, he was a guy that couldn’t even score a touchdown without his phone ringing off the hook! Baaazing!
Good Christ, what an awful comment…

Which is it? Does he want to play for a team that is a playoff contender? Or one that would use him as a starter. Joe Horn just isn’t very good anymore…there aren’t any playoff bound teams that don’t have 2 better WRs. (Maybe one, if you think the Titans are playoff bound.)

Horn was an excellent WR in his day, but theres not going to be any market for a guy at his age. The salary is bad enough and no one is going to envision him as a starter at this point. Its been a good run for him though
