In response to recent reports that the Dallas Cowboys could be interested in trading for Falcons receiver Joe Horn, Atlanta G.M. Tom Dimitroff says that no team has inquired about the veteran wideout who wants out of town.
Including the Cowboys.
“I’ve made no contact with Dallas or they with me,” Dimitroff told Steve Wyche of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution via text message.
Um, Tom? Have you ever heard of leverage? They say honesty is the best policy, but not when you’re the General Manager of an NFL team that is hoping to fleece another franchise for a guy no one wants.
Sure, you’re not putting your mortal soul at risk. But what fun is that? (Attention, Supreme Being: I am being sarcastic.)

Sure, but if Horn believes there really are no offers for him, it would be better for Dimitroff. If Horn thinks there are offers and he’s still not getting traded, he’ll get even more fussy.
Hopefully (for Atlanta) Horn just cools off and decides to stay put.

Or if they’re working on something with Dallas, the Cowboys might appreciate the courtesy of Dmitroff’s nondisclosure of sensitive negotiations.

I happened to flip over to the Dallas/NY AFL game Friday night and they were interviewing the Cowboys warden, Jerry Jones (also owns the Desperadoes), and he stated that he basically has no interest in Horn at this time and has not been in contact with him in any way.

Horn has been washed up for some time now.

Seriously, I can’t imagine anyone is interested in Horn at this point. He will be released by the Falcons just before or during camp and will end up as emergency 4th WR on someone’s roster once the inevitable first round of injuries hit the position.
