Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Bucs and running back Earnest Graham have finalized a new contract.
Per Schefter, it’s a four-year, $11 million deal, which given Graham’s $605,000 base salary in 2008 meshes with our report of a looming three-year, $10.5 million extension.
Graham rushed for 898 yards in 2007. His opportunities arose from injuries to Cadillac Williams and Michael Pittman.
In 2008, Graham likely will be sharing first-team reps with Warrick Dunn.

This has got to be the most money ever given to a ron-rookie RB with fewer than 1200 CAREER rushing yards.

You do your thing on the field and you get paid for it. Good sign.

happy to see the deal get done. No hold-out means a better training camp. Well worth the investment

So fantasy wise, Ernests’ value goes down considerably.

Bucs have turned into a stupid team. What’s next? Extend Garcia until he gets Medicare? Graham had the season of his career against a tissue soft schedule. Good luck getting your money’s worth on that.

Ernest deserves the money after Gruden hid him in obscurity for several years. He’ll carry the mail again this season while the Caddy stays in the garage and be the most productive ground gainer. He was a great mid-season FF pickup last year.
Dunn will be the “home run” back on the Bucs as he takes advantage of his opportunites in the Tampa Bay “Dink and Stink” offense.
