Buccaneers running back Earnest Graham stayed away from voluntary workouts, presumably because he wanted a new contract. More recently, Graham showed up unannounced to the team’s FanFest, and he proclaimed that he plans to be with the team beyond 2008.
It’s about to happen.
Per a league source, the Bucs are poised to sign Graham to a three-year, $10.5 million extension. It put Graham under contract through 2011.
The deal is not yet finalized, but it is expected to be done soon.

Good for Graham, he earned this (if all goes through) with last years performance. I’m hoping that he can continue to play at a high level. For some reason I am suspicious that he might not play as well as he did. I hope I am wrong on this one.
Go Bucs…

I hope that contract protects the Bucs if Graham can’t hold off Warrick Dunn, Michael Bennett, and/or Cadillac Williams in camp, all of whom have more speed and better moves than Graham.
Maybe the contract is backloaded?

Nice signing by TB, and a good story. The guy sat the bench for years before capitalizing on his chance last year.

3.5 mil a year avg. for 3 years. That too much for a guy that had 3/4 of one good year. Bucs overpaid for this guy.

Considering we wasted a pick and money on Carnell, this is a good signing. Next year, we get our back of the future.

Only GeauxSaints12 would think the Bucs have a “bad” defense. When the truth is your just mad that you can’t say top 10 for the past forever years! Not overpaid, but under used. Now he will get to show the toughness that Carnell doesn’t have, and with less mileage than most backs with his experience.

Delintz your an idiot. Read the post again. Does Sedrick Ellis or Johnathan Vilma play for TB? No they play for the Saints. I was saying that the Saints Defense is bad, not the Bucs. Another High School Dropout.
