Quietly, the trial of former Bengals Chris Henry got underway this week, lost amid the headlines of an initially failed effort to repo his Range Rover.  (The vehicle eventually was repossessed.)

On Friday, a judge dismissed a charge of criminal damaging against Henry, according to the Associated Press.  Henry still faces a charge of assault and battery.

Henry is accused of punching a man in the face and of breaking his car window with a beer bottle.

The trial will continue on Monday.  On Friday, Henry testified that he swung at the alleged victim in self defense.

If convicted, Henry’s NFL career likely is over.  If acquitted, look for him to be in a training camp next month.
