Former NFL defensive lineman Warren Sapp likely will be the next football player to trade in his shoulder pads for dancing shoes.

Sapp, according to the St. Petersburg Times, plans to accept an offer to appear on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

The former Buccaneer and Raider would join former NFL players Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith and current Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor as participants in the show.

Sapp also said that he’d like to have a radio show, and that he’s not necessarily interested in television.

“I don’t want to go to [ESPN] every week for a two-hour show,” Sapp said.  ”I want something short and sweet.  I’d love to have a radio gig, just turn on the mic and talk about the topics of the day.”

We also envision Sapp, who was notorious for having a chunk of smokeless tobacco in his mouth, becoming the next Walt Garrison.
