Word on the street in some NFL circles is that Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo isn’t actually close to inking a five-year, $10 million deal with Starter for shoe and apparel marketing.
As we’re hearing the rumors from a league insider with experience regarding such matters and who is plugged into the rumor mill in this regard, the talk is that the Romo camp floated the Starter offer to Reebok in an effort to get an equivalent or bigger deal from Reebok. But Reebok didn’t think that the Starter offer was legit, and so Reebok leaked it to the media.
There’s also a rumor that one or more folks from Starter, which officially had no comment in the Liz Mullen story from SportsBusiness Journal, are now privately saying that there is no such pending or potential offer to Romo.
If these rumors are true, it makes sense. Since Starter doesn’t have a shoe or apparel deal with the NFL, Romo can’t wear Starter stuff during games or at press conferences. And Starter can’t use images of Romo in his Cowboys gear for commercials, print ads, or (hopefully) Internet ads.
We need to reiterate that these are rumors, not fact.

Donovan McNabb cornered the Vaseline endorsement market and he’s currently working on KY and AstroGlide, “sevenrider”.

From a marketing standpoint. This deal would make perfect sense, you have a second rate QB matched up with a second rate apparel company. Seems like a win-win…Oh wait, that doesn’t happen when it counts…But anyway i have, a great name for The Tony Romo footwear line….
The Choke…..Comes with extra set of laces…..

I’m loving all of this Cowboys hate. We got Eagles fans talking about choking “when it counts” and Pats fans talking about the class of others hahaha gotta love it! Is it any wonder that Tom Brady had to get out of Massachusetts to find a girlfriend that was suitable for his obviously average needs or that the Eagles are synonymous with phenomenal choke jobs?

Wow…Vox….you really are a pathetic little twerp….Take a deep breath, and realize it’s Just BS between fans….Not life or death…And although I’m no Brady or Pats fan, you can’t be serious about the women he dates……For real?

Vox is right, let’s all remember all the playoff games the Coboys have won in the last 10 years. And I heard Tony Romo also has magic powers and can alter time and space with his dreamy gaze. I also heard if a mere mortal touches him, they will instantly be turned into stone.
