Sure, Jacobs makes a great "Thunder." Unfortunately, I get the impression that he isn't content merely being Thunder. I think he wants to be both Thunder and Lightning at the same time.

In other words, it seems to me he wants to be the featured back. Typically, it is the "Lightning" guy who is the featured back, and the "Thunder" guy comes in on short yardage situations. I can't envision him being happy with that scenario.

As a Giants fan, I love watching Jacobs level any CB dumb enough to try to tackle him up top. I do believe, however, that Bradshaw is the RB of the future. Four years is too long for Brandon. I just don't see his knees holding out. Between defenders diving for his legs (if they have any brains and don't want to be crushed) and the wear and tear of running with that much weight, I don't see his knees holding up to the strain. As for Florio ripping Bradshaw for being in jail, he's just telling it as it is. Hopefully, Bradshaw's jail days will soon be behind him because, man, is he fun to watch. The guy will be a stud if he can stay out of trouble.

I think four years is perfect. Should coincide perfectly with his shelf life as a banger between the tackles with a surprising second gear. Once Bradshaw gets out of the pen the running game should be set for the next couple of seasons at least. Now when is Plax going to get his payday? First Snee, now Jacobs.

ShawshankReception says:

"I think the Giants are going to end up eating it on this deal. I believe Bradshaw is a better prospect as the long term replacement for Tiki."

I think you misunderstand the Thunder and Lightning concept. Tiki was Lightning, and so is Bradshaw. Brandon is the Thunder that they have been wanting for some time. And together they are awesome!

LOL @ Accipiter, nah I am good.

To Ampats - I actually felt people should have left Spygate alone also. Very much an overblown story. Anyway, I doubt your Pats will be in the Superbowl next season or the season after.

lol @ jigga man.....what's next, a 'yo mama so fat' joke?

anyway, I'm surprised people are still willing to work on deals for RBs based only on partial seasons...didn't they do that with larry johnson? look how that turned out.

I think the Giants are going to end up eating it on this deal. I believe Bradshaw is a better prospect as the long term replacement for Tiki. Jacobs' build and running style just lends to injury, and I don't think he's a heady enough player to compensate for when his physical abilities begin to give way. I also think he's the type of guy who will get overly fired up during the course of a game and cost the team in penalty yardage.

Luckily, it's no more than a four year deal, but even that is a long time in "RB years".

Mike, its a joke how the people that read your site take you to task for printing articles that are unflattering to their teams. Just write about Jacobs & lets not mention that "the other running back is sitting in a jail cell. I may not always agree with what you say but it is your site & you have the right to print what you believe. Its funny when there is anything about the Patriots this site has the most hits on their articles. Ooh the EVIL BB & those videotapes.Get over it folks, The Pats are back & ready to dominate the NFL,AGAIN.There were no videotapes last year.Just superior talent & coaching. Forget Obama/McCain. Brady/Moss 2008 baby.We violated the rules & were moving forward. Its good to know that all 31 other teams have always followed all the rules to the letter of the law.HAHA

There goes the ignorance of Mr Florio. Just keep your article about Jacobs possible deal coming, and leave Bradshaw out of it. I am sure you can't help it, you probably a jerk outside of this website.
