The case of the Jets fan suing the Patriots about Spygate isn’t over yet.
The Associated Press reports that a federal judge has given the fan, a Jets season ticket holder named Carl J. Mayer, more time to amend his lawsuit, in which he accuses the Patriots and Bill Belichick of “deceiving customers” by taping opponents’ signals.
Mayer claims new revelations have been uncovered thanks to Senator Arlen Specter looking into the matter, although it’s not clear what those revelations are.
Mayer says ticket holders paid a combined $61.6 million to watch eight “fraudulent” games and are therefore entitled to triple that amount, $184.8 million, under the federal RICO Act and the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.

Jets fans did watch 8 fradulent games. Unfortunately it was Jets management that was responsible for the fraud by putting out a less than competetive product.

Geez, another bitter Jets fan who is upset that their team can’t get it done on the field.
Perhaps you should be suing the Jets front office for fraud - for putting those teams on the field for the past 35 years….

I don’t really see a case here. Otherwise there would be lawsuits against Major League Baseball for steroids. I imagine there was some kind of disclaimer in his ticket that would negate any lawsuit. Belichick doesn’t have any kind of contractual obligation to him. He doesn’t have a case, it’ll probably be thrown out.

So if the Jets where/ are a less than competetive product
why did the Patriots have to cheat?

Because Patriots fans and the owner lack the decency to do the right thing and run Belichick out of town, Belichick continues to be a blight on the NFL. What kind of message are Patriots fans sending to their children as they continue to shelter that pathological cheater? It’s no different than the star treatment the athletes get. Doesn’t matter what you do as long as you win. Good going there Pats fans. Don’t whine later when Belichick stabs you in the back like he’s stabbed everyone else in the back he’s ever dealt with.
Belichick intentionally chose to cheat with multiple millions of dollars at stake. His actions affected not only the league, but the paying customers. The league had an obvious interest in sweeping the whole thing under the rug by destroying evidence as quickly as possible, but the courts don’t go away so easily, and Belichick can’t forever hide from the full consequences of his cheating ways.

Monger is right! It’s the fault of these New England people and what they teach to the following generations. I mean….. really! What have any of the New England states ever contributed to this country? This country would have been founded a lot sooner if it weren’t for them. They’ve never played any part in where the rest of us are today. It’s their lack of morals, common decency, honor and bravery.
Why should they have a football team or a stadium? We need to make sure this team is disbanded and the stadium torn down. Then we can salt the ground.(I’m hoping we can include their baseball team and basketball team in this cleansing.) All the proof you need is that no other team in the history of the NFL has ever been fined for anything. The rest of “us” know this basic truth.
Let’s make this happen and get these new England people cordoned off from the rest of us so that can’t contaminate us …..or our children.
It’s the only fair thing to do.

Word has it that as a child, Carl J. Mayer, was heartbroken when he found out that Mr. Ed really didn’t talk. Things just escalated from there. He also has pending cases against Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth-fairy.
My heart goes out to him. (hehehe)
