Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall suffered a serious cut on his arm on March 22, a cut that he first claimed was a result of slipping on a McDonald’s wrapper and then claimed was the result of a playful family wrestling match.

Just over two weeks before that, Marshall was arrested in Atlanta after his girlfriend claimed that he struck her.

That arrest only came to light this week, and now another detail of the arrest has come to light:  Marshall suffered another cut during the incident that led to the arrest.

The Denver Post is reporting that Marshall’s hand was cut by a piece of glass, and he was bleeding when police arrived.

The Post cites an Atlanta Police Department incident report as saying Marshall told officers that two sisters of his girlfriend, Rasheedah Watley, attacked him and that “he had been cut on glass during the fight.”  Broncos spokesman Patrick Smyth told the Post that Marshall informed the team about the cut, and that it was not related to the cut on his arm later in March. But while the incidents might not be related in the sense that the two cuts aren’t to the same part of Marshall’s body, they are related in another sense:  As Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler put it when discussing Marshall, “It’s always something with him.”

Some guys play long careers without ever having a hint of off-field trouble; others have a hard time going a month without having their names in the news for negative reasons.  As Cutler has noted and this news reminds us, Marshall is in the second category.
