Former Giants defensive end Michael Strahan recently revealed his desire to do more in television than talk about football.

He’s already getting a start in that direction.

Via Chris Littman of The Sporting Blog (an online venture of our good friends at Sporting News), the Newark Star-Ledger reports that Strahan was in California last week to film a cameo for the NBC series Chuck.

Strahan plays the manager of a sporting goods store in the mall where the lead character works.

“When the cameras rolled, Michael was really, really funny,” Josh Schwartz, the show’s creator and executive producer told the Star-Ledger.  “Everyone on the set was completely blown away.  Broadcasting or acting, he’s got a future.”

Strahan might even end up reprising his role in the future.  “After everyone saw him, they were like, ‘Well, maybe we should get [Strahan] back here,’ ” Schwartz said.

Maybe it will eventually lead Strahan to land an NBC show of his own.  Hell, we can already picture Strahan and Rich “Big Daddy” Salgado pitching ideas to Russell Dalrymple and crew.  (Hopefully, Big Daddy can track down his script of La Cocina.)

Meanwhile, allow us to present Taco Bill’s vision of Strahan’s potential career in film.
