The bad news for Ray Lewis is that he has a legal entanglement related to this year’s Super Bowl.
The good news is that it’s nowhere near as serious a matter as the legal entanglement he had related to the 2000 Super Bowl.
Eight years ago, Lewis was charged with murder and later pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice. This time he’s just getting sued by a company that says he owes money for services rendered at a Super Bowl party.
TMZ.com is reporting that Professional Events, LLC, an Arizona-based company that Lewis hired for a Super Bowl party, is suing Lewis, claiming he never paid for hostesses he hired. The company says it was promised several times that Lewis would pay $5,780 for the services of the hostesses, but that he never did.
Lewis, who has for the most part succeeded in cultivating a clean image since the 2000 Super Bowl, has not commented on this lawsuit.

Wow, he must really need that new contract. It’s always sad to see a guy struggle to pay for basic necessities like catering & hostesses.

This is simply a case the defining the legalize of a convoluted agreement. It is apparent there is no harm no foul, just lawyers hammerin’ things out. The month of June sucks for mongers like ‘florio’.

this is not very important. Now if he was being sued for a couple million then it would be news. But he’s being sue for just over 6,000. Nfl players can pay that in thier sleep.

For me Ray Lewis has always been of suspect character. On the field he’s an emotional leader and a “heckuva” player. But off of it, I think he’s never fully been able to rise above his associates or what he was before he made the big time. He is what he is and his actions continue to indicate it.
This isn’t another case of an athlete slipping, it’s a case of an athlete failing to meet expectations of the society outside of his nature. Maybe this is a mistake. Maybe it’s an oversight. But for an prominent professional athlete in today’s world to stiff someone over $6K just reeks of arrogance.
I doubt Tiger Woods or Peyton Manning have these problems.

I’m tired of people complaining about non “big-time” football stories. THERE NO STORIES NOW!!! Have you noticed what time of the year we’re in? Football’s not even going on right now in training camp. Relax, if you think it’s a non issue….SKIP IT. Amazing huh? Because if this site was closed until training camps started, then you would really be bitchin

Why are you people trying to turn Ray into O.J.?
He did not stab anyone according to the D.A. who filed the charges against him. He may have seen what happened, and did not assist the police in the investagation, but that is not nearly the same as actually killing people. Plenty of people who witness a double murder can’t seem to remember any details when questioned by the police.
Ray has not just “cultivated a clean image”, he has been a role model to many of his peers in how to conduct yourself in the community with charities and buisiness interests.
Stop trying to O.J. Ray. He is a good guy, there was no motive, relationship or even second hand snitch evidence or testimony alleging Ray was guilty of anything other than obstruction of justice.
By the way what is up with the law suit and where is the connection?
His personal life and billing disputes with some company trying to get 5 grand for some HOstesses should not dredge up dismissed murder charges? What kind of services do they provide for that kind of money I expect at least headbeerbreakfast.

@8Man and JimmySmith…
Donovan McNabb doesn’t have these problems either. Or Herm Edwards. T.O. doesn’t, God bless him… Lovie Smith don’t. Tony Dungy either. Mike Tomlin never did. LaDanian Tomlinson and Brian Westbrook are cool. Marshall Faulk kept everything together. Jerome Bettis was always a stand-up guy. Hines Ward is never a problem, and like Tiger, is proud of his bi-racial heritage. Seems like that Reggie Bush guy is gonna be OK. Steven Jackson is a soft-spoken gentleman. Both Adrian Petersons have pretty good reputations. I mean, there you go. It goes on an on…
You can’t just point to one guy or a handful of guys in a big crowd of guys like that and generalize…
