Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse today made his first public comments since he was arrested for drunk driving over the weekend, but he didn’t have a whole lot to say.
“I’m still thinking positive out here, I can’t bring it onto the football field because this is my job,” Kearse said, per Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com. “I’m thinking positive, keeping my chin up, my head up, everything positive.”
When reporters pressed him for more details, Kearse replied the way his agent did when peppered with questions about Terrell Owens in 2005: “In the words of Drew Rosenhaus, next question.”
Titans coach Jeff Fisher, however, did say he was disappointed.
“Who wouldn’t be embarrassed regarding the incident itself?” Fisher said. “The truth will come out the facts will come out, but nevertheless we’re clearly disappointed in the fact that there was an incident.”

Kudos to Jeff Fisher for telling it like it is. “The Freak” placing himself in that position IS an EMBARRASSMENT — thank God he didn’t kill anyone. PUNK.

How exactly is he a punk? Please tell me another time when Jevon was in trouble with the law? The guy makes one mistake. He is a veteran, he’s got a good head, it wont happen again. You people kill me with the “punk” and “thug” talk whenever someone gets in trouble like you are all holier than thou. Can’t wait to see that “punk” put your teams QB’s in the dirt this season.

Kearse is done as an NFL DE. He knows it, and is likely a little down about it.
Which leads to having a drink, or 2 or 3, more than usual, which leads to … embarrassing incidents. And afterwards, transparently meaningless “think positive” chatter.
Jevon had a great start to his career, and unless he screws up big time, he’ll have financial security for life. We should all be so lucky. It’s time for him to retire gracefully. Or if not, at least to hire a chauffeur.

I’m sure he’ll return to his pre-knee replacement, pre-Philly days now that he’s back in Tennessee.
Did you see him play last year? He’s lost his speed, so much so that Eli Manning was able to scramble past him, then made Kearse jump by pump faking out of Kearse’s reach anyway.
The only way he’ll put more than 4 QB’s in the dirt this year is by running over them with his car.

Ya, well, as nice a guy as Jevon might be (when he’s acting responsible and not like AN IDIOT), it will be hard for him to sack anybody weighing 235 lbs or so, or doing much of anything if he doesn’t make the final roster. Tennessee’ D-LINE depth may suck, but sounds like Jeff Fisher is already priming the pump to give Jevon his walking papers — he better turn in one hell of a training camp, because he’s got a lot stacked against him. And, aside from the injuries, the DWI is his own damn fault.
If Don Imus were to say that, I guess that would be racism, too? What do you think, Fat Al(bert) Sharpton?

Kearse will have 8 sacks MINIMUM this year. Book it. With Vanden Bosch and Haynsworth which one are you going to double team to free up Kearse? Pick your poison. Our D-line depth is not lacking, it is just fine. People will see we were smart in letting Laboy and Odom walk to their new overpaying franchises. Just like we were last year with Travis Henry, Drew Bennett, and Bobby Wade. Talk like you have this team figured out all you want, but as a long-time fan of the Titans I can tell you that everyone will be eating their words this season when it comes to this team.

Dude, it’s the Titans. No character, no class, no chance.

The Fraud, er I mean Freak, will be lucky to have 8 tackles this year. And most of those will come from him getting pancaked and the ball carrier falling over him. This guy has zero ambition to be an elite player - he’s just there for a paycheck. Hear me now and believe me later.

Sure miss the Go Blue days of the Oilers…now THAT was a fun team to watch…I feel for Fisher…he’s not only a great coach but he’s had to endure Bud Adams, Pacman Jones and Fat Albert Haynesworth…if anybody deserves a raise…he does…now he has the freak back…
