Erie County District Attorney Frank Clark has announced that he has reached an agreement in principle to end the Marshawn Lynch fiasco.
Clark said that the agreement is based on a concession that Lynch was “behind the wheel” when his Porsche SUV struck a woman on May 31. Clark didn’t say, however, that Lynch was driving. (It’s a distinction without a difference, unless the vehicle was parked at the time and the victim became injured by walking into it.)
Lynch will be in Buffalo next week to face the music. When he does, the “Days Without An Arrest” meter will re-set to “00.”

Finally! This scumbag swallowed his pride and manned up. It’s still gotta be much too late for anyone (besides Buffalo fans) to respect this guy.

Why do I feel so angry that such a stud second year back did something so stupid?
I wouldn’t care so much if:
A - He wasn’t so good.
B - I didn’t like the guy.
C - He played on a team like the Steelers, Bengals, or Cowboys.
Instead, he’s a likable guy on a likable bunch of rag tags. What bugs me more is that James Hardy was in the car with him.
Goodell, just give the kid 4 games, nothing more.

I’m missing something. How could he be “behind the wheel” yet not driving?

James Hardy was in the car with him? Buffalo might be becoming Bengals East.According to Drew the Bills fan hes a likeable guy that just hit her with his car.No BIG DEAL, there is no way that he possibly might have been under the influence? Nah,I mean he has never had any trouble with the law before,I mean in Buffalo, what happened in California really doesn’t matter.

I don’t think he “manned up.” It was a concession, like a plea bargain (for example Lynch may have agreed to admit he was driving if he doesn’t have to admit being under the influence of alcohol or drugs). I’m sure there is a significance in jail time between what Lynch conceded to and what he could have faced (possibly even no jail time now).
This was hit and run. And it was at least the third incident of a player leaving a crash scene to avoid a field sobriety test. I hope Roger Goodell hands out a long suspension for this and that the DA will pursue at least some jail time for Lynch.
It’s just a matter of time until some NFL player kills someone with their car, especially if they know they can just flee the scene and not get in much trouble for it.

There’s no indication that James Hardy or any other Bills player was in the car with Lynch. They might have known something though. By that logic, the Bills GM, Russ Brnadon was also in teh car since he was subpoenaed too.
And Lynch never had any legal troubles in California.
Given the fact that it probably won’t be anything more than a Class A misdemeanor, he won’t face any kind of suspension.

@Tyler Durden,
That’s wishful thinking, Goodell will give him at least 2 games to think about it.

If Lynch gets a one game suspension, it will be a lot. Late at night, two girls crossing the street and he avoids the first, but does not notice the second. If he realized he hit her, of course he should have stopped, but this is a relatively minor, first offense. She will get compensation for her stitches through a settlement of civil charges and that will be the end of it.
Hey Delinquent, when Jerramy said everyone was doing it, was he referring to drugging young women and then raping them in the bushes or something else?

Martin Luther King said: “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
It is easy for anyone to say they are high character, and do things like attend charity events that their marketing manager sets up for them. In fact, in 99% of a man’s life, doing the right thing is pretty easy. So you really can’t judge character in those times.
To me, one of the best judges of character is when, as a driver, you hit someone who could now be seriously hurt. If you pull over and run to their aid, knowing there could be some legal repercussions, you have strong morals and will always want to do the right thing.
If, however, you take off, valuing your legal record over someone’s actual LIFE, you have sh1t for morals, are extremely self-centered, and, well, revealed your true self.
Unfortunately, Mr. Lynch failed that test. I just lost a lot of respect for him.

bobinpr. I have been in a few traffic accidents, and I’ve already labelled myself a moron because of said events.
Lynch was facing a $500 fine for the accident, no jail time, and nothing. They had to convene a grand jury and subpeone people in the Bills organization to get this kid to man up.
I hit a woman’s parked car, and instead of driving off, I knocked on her door and explained what happend (in other words I told her I’m an idiot and hit her parked car).
Lynch could have avoided this whole ordeal, but instead drove off and hid. Under the advice of his lawyer, he kept his mouth shut. Sounds like someone is hiding more than a hit and run is all I’m saying.
Is he wasting his talent? Not yet, but now he’s got that first blip on his career, which could turn into a smear and later a “good-bye”.
