Updating prior reports, the Buffalo News reports that Bills running back Marshawn Lynch is expected to plead guilty next week in relation to the hit-and-run incident from May 31 that left a woman injured.
The precise charge is unclear, but it’ll be no more than a misdemeanor offense.
Still, the guilty plea will subject Lynch to punishment pursuant to the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.
A final resolution is expected by the middle of next week. Contrary to an item on WBEN.com, the Buffalo News reports that Lynch has acknowledged not only that he was behind the wheel, but that he was driving the car on the evening in question.

“the Buffalo News reports that Lynch has acknowledged not only that he was behind the wheel, but that he was driving the car on the evening in question.”
Duhhh, Florio. Was there any need for this compound sentence? If he was behind the wheel, he was also driving the car.

No more than a misdemeanor? Simply “hitting” the woman would be a misdemeanor, IMO, so wouldn’t the “running” part knock it up to a felony?? Man, what these athletes get away with.

Agreed ACDC84.
If my family member got struck and the jerk responsible got just a misdemeanor or minimal jail time, I’d be furious!
I wonder if Lynch got Leonard Little’s lawyer to help him get away so lightly.

misdemeanor? Ok, it doesn’t rank up there with OJ in terms of injustice but it still stinks worse then a coed closet after N. Davenport leaves the room (as well as his calling card).
Its time for Goodell to step up and show he treats this seriously as oppossed to looking the other way as he did with Bellicheat and the NE Patcheatiors.

yeah, it should be a felony and he should go to jail. But, that is the nature of plea bargains. Better to get a sure thing in a lesser sentence than get a Bills fan on the jury who doesn’t want to hurt the team’s chances. It sucks, but that is the way it works.
Thankfully, the woman was apparently not seriously hurt. If she had been, they would have struck a harder plea bargain, hopefully.
As pointed out, there’s always the civil suit. Plus, Goodell is not as nice as the Erie County DA.

Lance Briggs was not suspended for leaving the scene after crashing his Lamborghini. If you recall, he fled the scene, filed a false police report claiming his car was stolen (a felony), and then recanted the report claiming that he made a mistake.
Goodell’s “justice” is not so even handed either.

My guess as to why he took so long to come clean is that he was chemically impaired at the time that he hit her. Now it is way too late to do anything about it. Hopefully Mr. Goodell will not let Lynch pull the wool over his eyes.

Does anybody really think he wasn’t loaded when he hit her? Why else would he drive away? Anybody with a brain can see this a mile away, and from what I’ve seen, Goodell has a brain. A suspension is forthcoming. Lynch is very lucky the woman is OK….

Goodell will rip him a new hole, or at least he should. I don’t want the NFL to turn into the NBA.
I do envy the NBA’s rookie salary system, though.

I mean she was Canadian she prolly thought the red light ment GO!!! and just crossed eh?

Ohh and JimmySmith lets compare the whole team of the Patriots cheating for years (cause everyone but Goddell knows they did it more than once)to a single player on the Bills doing something stupid. I think Kazar’s drug problem with the FEDS is way more serious than some hit and run involving 7 stitches. Lets see a whole team compermising the integrity of the game compared to a complete dumb decision by ONE player whats more important to nip in the butt?
