Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will be making a live appearance on WIP radio in Philadelphia on Wednesday, following the Phillies-Red Sox game, which gets started at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
McNabb will join Howard Eskin (who hates us but we’re willing to set that aside in the sake of reporting the news), and McNabb will take phone calls and questions from listeners.
It’ll be interesting to see what McNabb says about his shoulder, the team’s prospects for 2008, and any other topic that comes up. It’ll also be interesting to see whether he gets any tough questions from Eskin or from the folks who call in, and whether the screeners let any/many of the tough questions through. (There’s a chance that McNabb has placed a “softballs only” condition on his appearance.)
We mention this thing primarily because we think it’s newsworthy, but also because we’re permitted to pollute from time to time the WIP air waves, most recently with Glen Macnow and Anthony Gargano, and also at times with Angelo Cataldi and the rest of the morning crew.
The interview can be heard on the WIP web site, for those of you who aren’t within the range of the signal. Or for those of you whose radio has been damaged by bullets from Marvin Harrison’s gun.

He has been incorporating baseball workouts into his training, and he even hit batting practice before the Phillies game a few weeks ago. I think he really just needs to rest it, and he’ll be ready to go

Donovan’s already addressed this issue.
Hes gonna get the same ole haters ringing up questioning his ability.
I have a feeling 5 will be healthy and playing well this season but I think the organisation has to make a play for a no.1 receiver to both further the strength of the team and underline its support of McNabb
That is all….

Donavans retarded. A week ago he took batting practice with the Phillies and was swinging for hte fences. Now his shoulders hurt. Whatever. Dude, your old and injury prone. Take it easy. Kolb is foaming at the mouth. Go win it so your trade value goes up.

McNabb doesn’t need a softballs only policy to go on Eskin. It’s already understood. That’s why Eskin gets all the access to the Eagles and the coaches that no other writer or radio guy gets. McNabb’s been on there before promo-ing things he’s hosting, like auctions on his website, golf tournaments, etc.
Let’s put it this way: when Andy Reid wants to put his message out in a controlled environment, where does he go?
You got it: right to Brown-Noser Eskin, every time.

I am a die hard Philly sports fan all around and I dont get these morons who want to throw out 5 for a second year player. YOURE ALL MORONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where would these QBs be with out their number one
1. Brady
2. Manning
3. Romo
4. Other Manning
5. Palmer
6. Who is ever taking snaps in AZ
For all the crap WO’s they gave McNabb (pinky, thrash, fredex, g-lew,) he has done well. I put the blame on the org. and big red for not keeping Owens and using their talent like Hank Basket. HB is tall strong player who is a college high jumping champ, can you say fade route? What pisses me off more than the McNabb issue is that they are waisting one of the great RB talents of our time in B-West. 36 deserves a championship and if Philly wont do whats called for to make it happen I hope he gets it somewhere else. Brian is one “Heck of’a'player”

If you’re a GREAT quarterback and you play in a GREAT offense, you don’t need a number one. Look at Brady for example. McNabb is one of the others that comes to mind, along with Tarvaris Jackson.

Why do all Philly fans have to refer to their players as d-mac, b-west,g-lew,etc. Sounds almost as ridiculous as their fairy fight song.
And who in their right mind considers Tavaris Jackson a GREAT quarterback? What has he done to earn that? The man has 11 career TD’s and 16 career INT’s. And he is sporting a massive 69 QB rating. He has more than a ways to go.
