Stop spewing all notions that Dungy is a Christian. A true Christian does not speak out about others. He does not need to. His comments have been inappropriate towards Belichick and the Patriots. I haven’t heard of another coach in the NFL speak so harshly of his colleague. Some might not have agreed with Belichick, but none spoke so abrasive as Dungy did. His Christianity spoke volumes that day. I can not respect a man who claims to be a loving Christian man when he doesn’t even heed his own words. To me…Dungy is a sheep in wolfs clothing and always will be.

This story is ridiculous. Being from Pittsburgh, I hate any and all things Philadelphia and am not a big fan of the Colts, but you must be joking. You can say that common sense says that he had the handgun before and after, but you have no one to say that he fired it. If they went to trial, what would they say? This gun was fired, people were injured, but they arent here and aren’t complaining. Harrison is right to not say anything, there is absolutely no way they can “prove” he fired it. So now you have a case with no witnesses, no victims, and a gun that no one knows who fired. Wow, I am shocked no charges have been filed. They would have an easier time if they filed the charges against me.

No one talks, no way to prove the case, no one goes to trial so Mavin walks. Maybe the city gets him on the “gun was registered to him charge” but they need the witness to say he was shot by that gun to sniff a charge and that doesn’t seem likely. Even if it’s a clear fact that someone was shot, if that person doesn’t show up in court to say they were shot, then it never happened.

People who live in Philadelphia (not individuals who talk that “thank god I got out of that city alive” sally blabber mouth talk) and other cities with fairly high gun violence crime rates understand how these things work. We all don’t agree with them, but we understand.

The one question I can’t quite understand is: Why does Marvin Harrison own a car wash at 26th and Jefferson?

Uh, charge who, Floria? And with what?
There is no evidence that Harrison fired the gun. There is no evidence WHO fired the gun. It’s entirely possible the gun was fired in self defense, but since there is no evidence as to who shot first (or who shot at all for that matter), how can they charge anyone with anything? The guy who was shot is a felon who did time for offing a guy. Isn’t it just a tad possible that he fired first? For Harrison to be charged with something, the DA would have to prove the following things:
1. That a specific person fired Harrison’s gun
2. That the firing of the gun was criminal
3. That Harrison had acted neglegently in allowing his gun to be obtained and used by the person who shot it.

As far as I can tell, the police have no shooter. The police have no idea if the shooting was justified, and without 1 and 2, there is no way to know if Harrison had taken reasonable precautions in the storage of his gun.

Am I missing something here? This is a nothing case. There is no way to know what happened and Harrison would be out of his mind to say anything about it at all. From the begining you’ve taken the position that Harrison committed a crime by shooting this guy when there is no evidence that he shot, and a pretty good chance there was self defense involved. Your attitude is curious to say the least.

I think he should just come out and say,:”A lot of things have been said about me and I would like to say I am not involved in anyway. I am sorry but that is all I can say.”
That way he is not puffing out his chest or just claiming innocence. Denying involvement with sincerity would have everyone on his side. Now, it may come out differently, but it may never come to charges anyway. So, there is a chance it will never go to trial but without a statement, damage is being done. I know he is a quiet person, that is why a short simple statement with sincerity and remorse for the situation, not his involvement, is waht will endthis.

One of the problems is that the two victims — a man who was shot in the hand and a child injured by flying glass — have been “less than fully cooperative.” - I wonder if someone paid the victims a visit with a briefcase full of money and did some sharing. #1: You are correct, but I think that is wrong. Harrison would be an idiot to talk about the case. Nothing he says can help him, except in the court of public opinion. Just about anything he says can be used against him, and that applies regardless of innocence, guilt, or any degree of wrong-doing or otherwise on his part. That’s just the way our justice system is set up.

#2: I was under the impression that was the original story that came out, then further statements by the Philly police indicated that it wasn’t certain whether or not he was the shooter. I could be wrong about this. I agree that chasing someone down absolutely *does not* cut it in a self-defense case, minus perhaps a very narrow set of circumstances but I’m not going to speculate on that.

#3: This is closely related to #1, but as I already said, it’s just not in his best interest to speak on the subject at all. Cooperating with police with a lawyer present is a lot different than releasing statements to the media. Prosecutors can nit-pick any statement made to anybody and use the bad parts against him and ignore the good parts. That’s why, when confronted with something as serious as this, your best bet is just to keep your mouth shut even if you are innocent. It’s unfortunate that many people don’t understand this, and that Florio routinely implies the opposite despite practicing law.

#3When one side of the story is told, then we can not make up the other side. SO all we can go on is one side. When Harrison speaks on the subject, it will be the first time.

The media has said so much mind-numbingly stupid stuff about this Harrison case that I just have to say something. First let me say though that I have forgot some of the details about the case so if I omit or mistake something, my bad.

First it was a “.57 caliber handgun that can penetrate 47 layers of kevlar.” Please! One should have at least a passing knowledge of firearms before they write about them. There is no such thing as a .57 caliber handgun to my knowledge. Hint: 5.7mm does not equate to .57 inches and is closer to .22 or so, give or take.

The fact that he had a concealed carry permit (i.e. was legally able to carry a handgun and shoot in justifiable fear of his or another’s life) was largely ignored. Going down a different path, it was never even established that Harrison was the shooter! His reputation has been severely tampered because a bunch of idiots don’t understand the legal process and more specifically, that *EVEN IF HARRISON DID NOTHING WRONG*, he would be an idiot to release any statements about the incident or talk to the police. He’d have nothing to gain and everything to lose! The same could be said of Lynch from Buffalo, although he almost certainly was in the wrong. Of course, by not talking, he’s going to get off a lot lighter than if he had ran his mouth.

There’s a bunch more I wanted to say but I just don’t care anymore. As a general statement, if you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about on a general subject, just don’t say anything.
