As rumor has it, Raiders owner Al Davis thinks that receiver Javon Walker is the key to the team’s 2008 season.
If that’s the case, it might be time to start making plans for the first overall pick in the 2009 draft.
Walker, who has a bad knee that traces to a torn ACL in 2005, was found unconscious on a Las Vegas street on Monday morning, according to FOX 5.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, and is in fair condition with a fracture to an orbital bone.
Per media reports, Walker was seen on Saturday night spraying the crowd at Tryst night club with some of the 15 bottles of Dom Perignon champagne he had ordered.

and I thought seeing Javon out at a local bar in Louisiana was bad. Boy was I wrong, at least he had fun before someone bashed his eye in. I’m kinda jealous of that weekend he had…..
Oh and I hope this isn’t a false report like “Bradshaw Dead!” or “Lou Holtz Arrested in Iowa!”

Commitment to Excellence, huh? Nice choice once again, Al. Time to pack it in for the retirement home and quit making a mockery of an NFL franchise. This has to be one of your stupidest moves. (ok…Art Shell was way worse) But paying that kind of money for Javon Walker should require an immediate forfeiture of the franchise so it can move back to L.A.

Maybe he pulled up lame on the walk to the hotel.
The good news is, there appears to be a direct relationship between injury concerns and Al’s willingness to pay up. The bad news is, Las Vegas’ repeated proclamations of nondisclosure appear to be puffery.
And I’m sure an injured head is ground for relief; it’s not like he was using it. Al can breathe a sigh of relief and know that he can still execute his master plan of paying Javon exorbitant money and then trading him for peanuts.

The NFL should declare Las Vegas and Miami off-limits; nothing good happens to players in either city. That includes having to play for the Dolphins.

eMedicine.com describes an orbital fraction like this.
“Orbital floor fractures may result when a blunt object, which is of equal or greater diameter than the orbital aperture, strikes the eye.” Like a Fist I suppose. They go on to say “Because the usual mechanism of injury is assault with a blunt object, the vast majority of cases occur in males” So I wonder was it a TKO or a drunken face plant?
