The pissing match between the New York Jets and tight end Chris Baker has reached a new level.

As first reported by Adam Schefter of NFL Network on Wednesday, the team fined Baker $3,000 for missing an injury treatment session during last week’s mandatory minicamp.

Agent Jonathan Feinsod confirmed the development to Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News

“Chris was fined for allegedly missing a treatment session, just like Pete Kendall allegedly was put in the rookie dorm,” Feinsod said.  Along with partner Neil Schwartz, Feinsod also represents Kendall, whose public battle with the Jets last year resulted in Kendall being assigned to the rookie dorm during training camp.

Kendall eventually was traded after claiming that the team promised to re-do his deal in 2007, and reneging.  Receiver Laveranues Coles made a similar contention earlier this year, and eventually got an adjusted contract.

Baker now claims that the team has broken a similar promise to him, and Baker has been vocal in his criticisms of the team.
