A crane accident at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium has left three men injured.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon. The men jumped from a crane cab to avoid cables and equipment that fell from another crane.
One man’s injuries are described as critical. All three reportedly are conscious.
In a statement issued by the construction company via the Cowboys, it was explained that the accident occurred while a “crawler crane” was being assembled. “[A] cable connector on the erecting crane failed, allowing the crane’s cables to fall,” according to the statement. “The boom being assembled was on the ground and had not yet been attached to the crane.”
The Cowboys are due to begin playing in the $1 billion venue next year.

Extra large popcorn for best wide receiver… $5. Ginormous HDTVs… $25 million. Brand new, state-of-the-art stadium… $1 billion. Finally winning a playoff game… priceless.. unlikely.. but priceless.

At least it wasn’t a “Bob Crane” accident. There would have been at least one odd unsolved death.

I’m appalled at the people posting on here that actually find it appropriate to make jokes. People got hurt in this accident and one could die, if he hasn’t already! Have a heart and some common decency towards the workers that got hurt today.

Gee, it was only in the article cited above. To wit:
” On Wednesday, Omar Wray, 37, of Irving, was killed at a construction site on Maple Avenue when he was struck by the crane’s hook that broke loose and fell on him.”
Man, you can sure tell who’s getting all butt-hurt because of me haha

Hmm you’d think if Jones was pissing away an extra 400 mil so he can gratuitously (thanks Tiki) feel like he has the most expensive stadium, that he might have spent some of it on construction firms that actually maintain their equipment.
Sorry for the workers hope they are better soon.

Good maintenence or not, mistakes happen. Hope everyone involved recovers from this. And I hope Big Blue is the first team to beat the Cowboys in their new digs.

it pays to have a healthy respect for really lousy weather conditions, mother nature, heavy machinery, high voltage, and the laws of physics.
here is something to consider however in this age of open borders and firms trying to cut costs: did all the workers in play, injured and operators… speak english?

Hey HarrisonHits, at least nobody was killed. Can’t say the same about the facilities at Gillette Stadium. Maybe next time Robert Kraft will pay somebody $10 to secure the gate that killed Thomas Kelly and injured 5 others back in 2003.
