When the lawsuit against Bengals receiver Chad Johnson gets started later this month, the case will be a lot simpler.

Because some of the claims against him have been dismissed.

Per WLWT-TV in Cincinnati, claims arising from allegations that Johnson failed to deliver on trips that he promised to patrons of a local comedy club have been dismissed.  However, Johnson still faces personal liability for giving a Lexus not to a customer of the club, but to his girlfriend.

The club also faces civil charges of theft by deception and a claim under the consumer protection laws.

There has been speculation that Johnson simply won’t show up for the trial, which opens on June 30.  Also, the lawyer representing the folks suing Johnson and the club claims that Johnson committed perjury in the deposition given as part of the lawsuit.
