Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting that the St. Louis Rams have claimed former Buccaneers quarterback Bruce Gradkowski on waivers.
According to Schefter, the Bears and Raiders also put in waiver claims on Gradkowski, but the Rams had priority based on having the worst 2007 record of the three teams that put in claims.
Gradkowski started 11 games as a rookie sixth-round draft pick in 2006. But he became expendable in 2007 when Jeff Garcia took over as the Bucs’ starter. In St. Louis Gradkowski will compete with Brock Berlin for the third-string job, behind starter Marc Bulger and backup Trent Green.

Crapowski is signed so he can throw balls in training camp. St. Louis, enjoy the precious time you’ll have with this diamond in the rough. Is there a nearby Arena team?

In all fairness, Gradkowski became expendable when he sucked so badly as a rookie that no one in my two-QB fantasy league would touch him.

He’s being brought in because Linehan is wary of Brock Berlin and wants to carry three QB’s this year. I suspect it will be an open competition for that job in training camp. And given Trent Green’s recent history with concussions it might actually matter who wins that job.

Grads never got a chance to develop in Tampa. Hopefully he can improve his game in St. Louis. He should be able to beat out Berlin. But I agree with the thought that he would have had a better chance at keeping a job by landing in Chicago.

I have a waiver question, if someone might know. If the Rams claim him off waivers, do they go to the back of the line as far as waiver priority goes, like in fantasy football, or do they have second dibs on as many waiver players as they like?

Brock Berlin couldn’t make it on the Dolphins roster…that tells a lot about his game.
Trent Green got knocked retarded 2 years in a row, and got cut by the Dolphins…Plus i hear he farts dust.
BRUCE IS ON THE LOOSE!!!
If he doesn’t make it on this roster….he needs call it a career and go coach a pop-warner football in Alaska.
