The Patriots aren’t talking about any discipline Nick Kaczur may face in the wake of his arrest for possession of OxyContin.
The tackle was at Gillette Stadium yesterday as the team continues its offseason workout program but neither he nor a team spokesman had any comment about the case. Because misusing prescription drugs is a violation of the league’s drug policy, it’s likely that Kaczur will face some punishment from the league office for his arrest.
Kaczur allegedly wore a wire to help police catch Daniel Eksala, who pleaded not guilty to distribution charges yesterday. The Boston Herald spoke with Boston College Law Professor Robert M. Bloom, an expert on government’s use of informants, who warned that Kaczur may be at some risk. “Let’s just say if I was a life insurance salesman, I wouldn’t find him to be an incredibly good risk,” Bloom said, adding that, “Personal safety depends on how big of an operation it was.”
The Patriots mandatory minicamp begins tomorrow and runs through the weekend. Kaczur is expected to attend.

Kaczur will be placed into the substance abuse program… maybe fined… can’t see anything further than that from the league.

Why is the Commish not all over this guy for what he did?? The drugs that was in this guys possession is a serious drug, it is basically medical heroin. If this was Pacman the commish would be all over him like white on rice. this is why the player conduct policy is bias. Obviously it only applies to certain people (Pacman and Tank) and no one else. This SNITCH should be banned for an entire year for this!!

It does seem naive of Kaczur to become an informant over a 7th degree misdemeanor. Why wouldn’t he just say that he found the handfull of pills in his car? How did a traffic stop escalate to his buying hundreds every week since November, 2007? Are pills traceable? A lot more will be revealed on this matter.

You have to love the media… break a story that names an informant and puts that person’s life at risk, and then run a second story about the original story explaining how they put that person’s life at risk. News creation at its finest.

rumor has it that this drug dealer will not get suspended if and when he returns all recording devices back to belicheat and his cronies. the us government is still impressed with the civilian wiretraps and have asked for there help in finding Frank “Whitey” Bulger.
another rumor has it that “whitey” is staying with the married women who is cheating on her husband with Bill Belicheat.
whiney pats fan in 3….2….1…… but mangini is fat and a rat. whine, whine, whine, we would have beat the giants if not for fatty and his distractions. and regardless of what the world says, we actually beat the giants because the clock guy was wrong. whine, whine, whine, that’s all we pats fans are good for anymore.

Well, a lot of OTHER players do the same thing and only HATERS make a big deal about this. And anyway, he simply misunderstood the NFL’s policy. He thought it was ok because he actually had a prescription in the first place. He probably just misplaced it and his doctor was out of town and so he thought what he was doing was ok. And the Pats went 18-0 in 2007 and people are just JEALOUS.
Did I leave anything out?

C’mon Florio, connect the dots. Belichick is the leader of the cartel and will likely “handle” the disipline of Kaczur himself. It’s obvious he was drugging players to get them to follow his ILLEGAL taping schemes, and of course so they could practice when they were on IR. I think Belichick up the dose before the Super Bowl to kill the pain of Tomase’s spot on reporting. This explains a lot about Kazcur’s “lethargic” play. Get out in front of this now Florio… don’t let Tomase, King or the ESPN boys beat you to the scoop. BELICHICK IS NOT ONLY A FILTHY CHEATER WHO CHEATS AND CHEATS… AND CHEATS, WHEN HE’S NOT CHEATING AND OF COURSE WHEN HE IS CHEATING…. BUT HE’S ALSO THE KINGPIN OF THE WORLD’S LARGEST DRUG RING!!!! Run with it!!!! Pillgate I!!!!!!

ESPN story mentions that the league doesn’t test for oxycodone. In my hospital, we test for opiates as a group. Granted, they only stay in your system for three days, but does anyone know the extent to which the NFL tests for opiates? Is it possible that we’re missing a lot of news that we don’t want to hear?
Also, $39 a pill with no breakdown to 100x is preposterous. I’m not very well versed in the street value of Oxys, but that’s pretty darn high, no?

First he along with the rest of his teammates were cheaters. Then he was a criminal, and now he’s a snitch and a rat. Even Pacman Jones thinks wearing a wire for the cops is low. Glad to see the Patriots are still the class of the NFL.

All the Patriot fans I know think the previous fines and loss of a first round draft pick for Spygate should cover Kaczur’s unfortunate situation as well.
They also favorably compare Nick Kaczur’s magnanimous generosity in deigning to save his own @ss from the pen, by fingering his suppliers… to Matt Walsh’s turning over evidence of the Patriots cheating to the league.
Heck, several were moved to tears about the good deed ole Nick has performed for society.
Man who isn’t ready for these guys to have a 2-14 season and crawl back under whatever Boston rock they came from???
