One of Donovan McNabb’s receivers indicated that the quarterback may be dealing with a sore shoulder at Eagles minicamp.
After Wednesday’s practice Kevin Curtis said that McNabb was looking good “but I think he has a little bit of a sore shoulder.” The Delaware County Times reports that McNabb wasn’t so sharp on Tuesday and was seen rubbing his shoulder as if it were hurt. At the mandatory minicamp in May, McNabb was shut down early at a couple of practices.
Andy Reid has denied that anything’s wrong with McNabb’s shoulder and that he was held out of the earlier practices because he’d thrown enough earlier in the sessions. This all amounts to a lot of speculation at this point but will bear watching as the Eagles wrap up OTAs today, tomorrow and next week.

McNabb is toast. I doubt he will ever return to being a premier NFL QB.

I think it’s a typical case of the Philly media trying to make a story out of nothing. He took batting practice with the Phillies yesterday after Curtis made that comment - There’s no way he would’ve done that if something was up with his shoulder.

He’s so fragile that he tore up his knee running out of bounds. I wonder what he could have done to his shoulder. Perhaps lifted a cup of Gatoraide?

im not so sure about this. he was at the phils game yesterday against the reds and was taking batting practice. i dont think if he shoulder was bothering him he’d be swinging a bat in his free time.

McNabb took batting practice with the Phils yesterday and was smoking the ball, i doubt that this is possible with a sore shoulder…i heard this info maybe a month ago…thanks for the breaking news

one more season ending injury to mcnabb and it is time to cut the cord. you cant win in this league with your starting AND best QB getting injured every season. he might be the best qb in franchise history but his injuries are definitely going to affect how long he is going to be an eagle.

No worries, folks. Howie Roseman, protege of Eagles’ CFO Joe Banner, is prepared to step in at QB. He’s a “bright guy” who can handle “responsibility over the football side” of team operations, says Banner. Plus, the 5′7″ Roseman is considerably cheaper than the incumbent, and can “quickly scan and grasp” the cap status of all his WRs when making throws.
No official word yet on whether the incumbent has formally been sh**canned. No one has seen him in the front office for days, however, nor does his name appear on the team website’s listing of football operations personnel.
The team may be waiting for the incumbent - or former incumbent - QB to pick up another job before making the announcement. Reportedly, Dallas, Miami, Green Bay, and Tampa Bay are all showing interest, but Chicago released a statement reiterating that is is “very happy with our two excellent QBs” already on its roster.
In other news, Roy Williams has asked for a trade to Philadelphia, “assuming that the new guy can throw it above the shoelaces.” Informed of his star WR’s request, Lions GM Matt Millen reportedly said, “Daah, OK.”

McNabb should be an afterthought these days in Philly, Kolb is the future of that franchise and he’s already sat out a year and seen the speed of the NFL game. I know Reid doesn’t wanna rush it, but he shouldn’t worry too much about putting Kolb in ASAP. At some point they’re just gonna hafta cut their losses with McNabb, take the PR hit with upset Philly fans (and to be honest, when AREN’T Philly fans upset?), and just give the ball to Kolb…
