The Buffalo News is reporting that police discovered Bills running back Marshawn Lynch’s SUV parked in his driveway shortly after it struck a woman early Saturday morning.
The paper reports that the SUV had damage that linked it to the scene of the accident. Sources also tell the paper that Lynch was seen in the area where the accident took place not long before the incident.
“I think it’s fair to say that, if Mr. Lynch was not driving the vehicle, he probably has a pretty good idea who was,” Buffalo police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge said. “At no point has Mr. Lynch reported his vehicle had been stolen that police are aware of.”
Although neither Lynch nor anyone else has been identified as a suspect, DeGeorge said, “Charges are going to be filed at some point. No question about that.”
Once the police think they know the identity of the driver, the charge will apparently be leaving the scene of an accident, which is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of one year in jail.

The victim, Kelly Shpeley, 27, of Milton, Ont., was attempting to cross the street at Delaware Avenue and West Chippewa at about 3:30 a. m. Saturday when she was struck.
Shpeley was walking east from the southwest corner when the westbound vehicle made a left turn at the intersection and struck her, according to the accident report.
The SUV failed to stop and continued south on Delaware. Police recovered pieces from the vehicle as evidence.
================================================
The Vehicle was found in his driveway less than 2 hours later. That’s some pretty damning evidence. Whoever was driving was obviously impaired, otherwise why not stop? Was it Meshawn Lynch? He’s gonna have to give himself or someone else up soon or face obstruction of evidence. I smell major stinky Turd coming on!

Would “Leaving the scene of an accident with an injury” be more applicable or “failing to stop and render aid”? Both sound a lot better than “DWI and vehicle assault”. So maybe Lynch may not have been so dumb to leave the scene. He was definitely hiding something because if he was not then why not stop?

Lynch responds: ” I have no idea who I was”.

I’m amazed he hasn’t come up with a friend to eat this charge yet. How much could that possibly cost him? 25-50k? Depending on the friend’s priors and legal defense, this might not even spell jail time…..
A suspension from Herr Goodell would cost at least 10 times that in present and future earnings. Anyone know what such a charge would entail? Dangerous driving + leaving the scene + injury (not death).
As mentioned before these charges attached to a mystery driver are probably better in the long run than ‘NFL RB DUI strikes pedestrian, calls ambulance and holds her hand.’ (not defensible I might add, just more advantageous to the dredded one).

if this guy is dumb enough to do a hit and run and then park the car right out in front of his own house right afterward, this guy deserves to go to jail just for that, in addition to the sentence for hitting the person. he couldn’t even get the car in his garage or drive out of town? what a mo-ron.

It is interesting the WEEI 850 AM, the voice of the Patriots, reported this incident at the top of the hour sports news headlines. For some reason they did not report on the Boston Globe story regarding Kaczur’s arrest for possession of OxyContin. Every other station in Boston carried that story.
It just goes to show you how far WEEI will go to sweep under the rug any shortcomings of the Patriots.

the same WEEI that has consistantly been rated #1 sports talk radio station in the country?
I’m a Pats fan, but to be fair, I’ve seen the Lynch news reported at least 3 times on PFT, and once on ESPN.com… I’ve yet to see the Kaczur story reported either place. I guess that means PFT and ESPN are NE Homers too?
I noticed you also didn’t point out that Kaczur wore a wire for the DEA last month to assist in the arrest and indictment of the guy who was behind it all, and they’re still continuing the investigation. Do some research man.

How much do you want to bet that lynch’s reluctance to talk to police have to do with the fact that a blood test might reveal why he hit the person to begin with. Why would he flee? sure he might have to make a pay out to the person or should I say his insurance would. Or if he has a driving history and might loose his license and do some jail time. But accidents happen. The only reason to flee would be facing santions from the NFL would be more severe and endanger his career. He was more than likely under the influnce of something. Given the fact that he still is not speaking to athorities I would be willing to guess its not alcohol because that would be out of his system by now…. Oh well guess its none of my business
