The Associated Press reports that the Buffalo Police Department is growing impatient with Bills running back Marshawn Lynch’s refusal to meet with investigators about a hit-and-run accident involving a vehicle he owns.
The AP even reports that Lynch “could face an obstruction of justice charge,” although those are the AP writer’s words and are not attributed to any law enforcement authorities.
What is attributed to a law-enforcement authority is that Department spokesman Mike DeGeorge expressed frustration that Lynch hasn’t spoken to police.
“Right now, the ball is in their court. The clock would be ticking,” DeGeorge said during a news conference. “Police have made it clear to Mr. Lynch’s representative that they would like some answers, expect some answers and if they don’t start getting some answers then they could take some other action.”
DeGeorge said evidence and witness statements indicate Lynch’s 2008 Porsche SUV sped off after hitting a pedestrian early Saturday at an intersection near Buffalo’s bar district. The victim was a 27-year-old woman from suburban Toronto who was released from a hospital with a bruised hip and a cut that required seven stitches.
DeGeorge would not say whether Lynch is a suspect, or whether police think he was behind the wheel, a passenger, or not in the vehicle at all. The SUV was impounded and remains in police custody.

So who represents Lynch? I would like to tell them that putting your fingers in your ears and closing your eyes while repeating, “I can’t hear you.” does not cut it with the police. But it sure does make you look guilty. Dumb Arse!

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that the Police do not suspect Lynch of driving the car. If they did, the would arrest his azz not grow impatient waiting to talk to him! My guess is he is protecting whoever was driving the car.

Say goodbye to your next few years of first round picks Bills fans! After June 1st Goodell said he’s going to punish teams for the actions of players… seeing as he’s been cracking down on teams for breaking obscure rules that most fans weren’t aware of before this year, and even taking away draft picks for breaking non-tampering rules, I’d have to think that obstruction of justice in an attempted murder case will be dealt with even more harshly.
I’m sure Goodell wouldn’t want to send a mixed message by valuing human life less than a convuluted rule that says taping signal calling is ok as long as one is doing it surrounded by 3 walls and a roof.
I gotta think the owners are beginning to get tired of this grandstanding by Goodell but he’s already boxed himself in with 3 walls and a roof by making clear he’s going to punish teams for the actions of players.

Its nice to see he is thinking about football and does not want to be inconvenienced by talking to investigators. Under the circumstances, whatever happened to the police showing up at your front door. Since when does the perpetrator decide if and when he will give the police the time of day?

Uh… let’s review:
Car registered to Lynch, not only has Lynch not presented an alibi, he refuses to cooperate…
Here in America, that’s what we call a “suspect”, Mr. DeGeorge.

@ warrick1005:
Actually, if it were me, I wouldn’t have fled the scene. I would’ve shown some freaking human compassion for the individual I just hit and injured with my vehicle. It wouldn’t ever be a question of whether “I wanted to talk”.
And just because he didn’t get CHARGED with anything in college doesn’t mean he didn’t cause any problems (*coughs* Jerramy Stevens *coughs*).
And if you really believe that rushing for 1500 yds and 15 TDs this year will absolve him of hitting a young woman with his car and running from the law…
…then I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

When Goodell said he would punish teams for the conduct of players, he meant it, but mostly if the player was on the Pats. However, it also applies to any team in the AFC that is a threat to his old employer, the Jets.
Lynch, your car just injured someone. If you didn’t do it, you had better start talking. If you did do it, you must be having a hard time finding a lackie who will take the fall for you.

your all being pretty assumptive.
when the bills drafted marshawn people flooded into the message boards on buffalobills.com raving about him. not only on the field but off. because he has gold teeth and dreadlocks you assume he’s a piece of crap.
once a week i read an article of him doing things giving back to the community. your all really slandering him before you know any facts. if the police say they don’t have all the facts, then they probably don’t have all the facts. not only that, but what if he was sleeping in the back seat and his friend hit the person?
there are many, many beautiful excuses to come up with here. also, keep in mind, the guy is 22. i was in the navy and when i was 22 we all did stupid shit on a very regular basis. the girl had a couple bruises, its even possible that the driver didn’t even notice. if your looking at traffic, all these guys have major sound systems in their cars, and you graze against a female, that could go unnoticed.
give it a break. he’s not like 50% of the players on YOUR favorite teams. the patriots have guys running drugs. nuff said.

Did a girlfriend of Obama, McCain, or Hillary ever accuse them of beating her up and later refuse to press charges? Because that happened to Marshawn.

The ex-girlfriend DIDN’T refuse to press charges.
The Alameda County District Attorney, an expert on domestic violence, decided not to press charges after the accuser — who kept changing her story in police interviews — filed her police report a week later without any evidence of having been beaten.

Sounds hard to believe, but sometimes people make stuff up out of revenge.
When the case was dropped, the accuser hired one of Oakland’s highest-profile attorneys to file a civil lawsuit.
That was before the Colts won the Super Bowl. So far, no lawsuit.
