On the same day that the Dallas Cowboys learned that they are close to securing the services of cornerback Pacman Jones for 2008, they’ve reached an agreement on a three-year contract extension with receiver Terrell Owens.
Michael Smith of ESPN broke the story (it’s on the ESPN crawl, but not yet on the web site). We’re breaking the value of the contract; a league source tells us that the deal carries with it $27 million in new money.
[UPDATE: The ESPN story is right here. They beat us by two minutes. Newman!]
Owens, we’re told, will receive a signing bonus of nearly $13 million. In all, he’s under contract for four years, and he’ll earn $34 million.
The agreement has been reached verbally, and the deal is expected to be signed tomorrow. A press conference is planned for Tuesday as well.

I wonder if the haters know that nobody has caught more TD passes than TO has since he joined the Cowboys. Not even Moss. If they didn’t before, they do now hahaha

Oh great. Now we’ll most likely be subjected to another endless stream of TO’s publicist which resembles a strung out street walker in Ybor City. Fantastic.

not such a grey day. his half life before his next explosion is getting closer and closer. he is a team killer. tigers don’t change their stripes. even for 13 million dollars. my fervent prayer is the JJ gets exactly what he deserves. he has been trying to steal the thunder from Johnsons SB wins for years. He is an egomaniac beyond all comparison except for perhaps the midget that runs the Deadskins.

bucco:
Uh … he fired her shortly after her “25 millions reasons” press conference …
Forum cop:
Yep, that’s what they said in 2006. Then in 2007 it was, “Just wait — he always destroys the team in the 2nd year. Before this contract, it was “Just wait — this is the last year of his contract. He’ll rip them apart with a contract dispute.”
Now, he’s gotten paid, feels respected by both team management and players, has a good repore with his QB, and we hear, “just wait …”
Is this your expert analysis or wishful thinking?

Good move by the cowboys. With Jerry Jones calling the shots again they will easily win the NFC East and lose their first playoff game.

You can’t argue the fact he’s actually done quite well since arriving in Dallas. The Patsies lose the Superbowl to a wild card team, and WITH Randy Moss AND Wes Welker.
Yeah…go Pats…and take the video cameras with ya.

Just like once a cheater always a cheater.
And the Patsies couldn’t beat a wild card team with Moss AND Welker.

Owens is a model citizen now for two reasons: 1) he wants Hall of Fame consideration, and 2) it pisses off Eagles fans.

LMAO! No matter if Jerry Jones signs Satan himself, the Patsies fans will NEVER, EVER be able to claim the moral high ground on any fan of any team. I love it!
And this is a very good signing too. I’ll admit that I was skeptical when T.O. was first signed, but he’s been amazingly team oriented. And very productive of course.
I know the haters will continue to show their pettiness, but you know that most of them would secretly LOVE to have T.O. on their team.
GO COWBOYS!!
