The New England Patriots announced that they’ve agreed to terms with veteran offensive tackle Oliver Ross.

Ross is 33 and has played 89 games over 10 years, making 53 starts in that time. Most of them came during his five years as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, including 2004 when he started all 16 games and helped the Steelers run for nearly 2500 yards. He joined the Cardinals the next season and injuries began to mount, culminating in a missed 2007 thanks to a torn triceps.

The Patriots didn’t take any tackles in the draft which left Ryan O’Callaghan and Wesley Britt as the only backups. Ross is a more natural right tackle but is expected to provide depth behind both Nick Kaczur and Matt Light for New England.
