After Ted Ginn and Ernest Wilford, it’s anybody’s guess who will fill out the ranks at wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins this season.  There were hopes that Tab Perry, late of the Bengals, might shake off the injury bug and contribute to the offense.

Dreams were dashed this weekend, then, when Perry blew out his Achilles during an OTA.  He was released today.  Perry showed flashes of ability with the Bengals in 2005 when he set a team record for kickoff return yardage and played a major role in kick coverage.

Even though he only played four games over the past two seasons because of hip injuries, Perry figured to get a long look with the Dolphins this summer.  Karl Dorrell, his coach at UCLA, is the team’s new receivers coach. Now he’ll have to sift through Derek Hagan, Greg Camarillo, David Kircus and two rookie free agents, Davone Bess and Jayson Foster, to round out the unit.
