Bengals receiver Chad Johnson is notoriously cheap.  A couple of seasons ago, he scored tickets to a road game from Saints coach Sean Payton, and then Johnson stiffed Payton for weeks before paying him the money for the seats.  Also, Chad has been sued for not coming through on promises to provide prizes to patrons of a Cincinnati-area comedy club.

There are now reports that Johnson has never paid a single penny in property taxes on his Hamilton County condo since buying it four years ago.  He owes nearly $13,000.  Of that amount, $8,000 would have gone to Cincinnati schools.

Of course, Johnson will incur liability in excess of that amount if he holds out of training camp for only one day.  And Chad’s cheapness means that, when push comes to shove, he won’t put himself at risk of having to pry his wallet open.

It’s possible that Chad’s defense will be that, in light of the hit shown below, he has forgotten how to write checks.
