"Belichick, unlike that Rat Mangini who turns on those who’ve helped him go from ball boy to HC, won’t help anyone who’s trying to make Parcells look bad."

That's funny, since Belichick did exactly that when he resigned his position on the day he was going to be announced as the new head coach of the Jets after BP hand-picked him to be his successor with full and very public recommendation back in 2000. He intentionally made BP look like an out-of-touch jackass and pretending that it was a spur-of-the-moment decision is right in line with his "I misinterpreted the rule" garbage excuse he gave for the Spygate thing.

Who says Taylor will require a big contract? If he has been smart about it, he should have plenty of money by now and may just want to play on a team on the rise. I suggest the Vikings. With Jared Allen already there, they would have another incarnation of the Purple People Eaters of the 70's. And Wilf seems eager to make moves.

I wonder if the Jags are still going to try and make a run for him. They probably wouldn't have to give up as much as they would have before the draft. They also have the cap room. The Fins should cut their loses and get what they can for him.

Jason Taylor has played under Saban, Cameron and Wannstedt. That alone should give him a free pass on this.

Does anyone else see that Jason Taylor is not the one demanding a trade in public. He hasn't said, "Coach Childress, Call me!" Or "I could see myself in Red, White and Blue". What is this comparing him to Chad Johnson?
Jason Taylor didn't hurt his trade value, the Miami Dolphins did by making this announcement. I was starting to think that this team was finally being run by people who knew what they were doing, but apparently I was wrong. If someone doesn't want to play for you, the last thing you want is for people to know it. If anyone was doubting Jason Taylor's desire to leave the Dolphins, the organization removed it all on Wednesday. Jason Taylor has yet to say any of this publicly, he's kept it private like a professional. Not like ocho stinko or Tiki, or TO or any other media attention craving ego-maniacs in the NFL that have been mentioned in this thread.
Let it be heard, Jason Taylor has said none of this, it was the organization that went public. The opposite of Chad, Tiki and TO.

JT can suck one for trying to get out of this situation looking like the good guy. He owes Miami fans the decency to be a man about it instead of covertly sharing his refusal to practice with only the Miami front office. Why won't he tell everyone that he wants out? Oh yeah, that might hurt his "acting career." What garbage.

For all I care, they can let him sit out the entire season. Why trade the jerk if that's what he wants and he's willing to villify his own team, which has done nothing but support him, to get out? I must be as stubborn as Parcells, because I agree with him on this one. If JT wants to run off and be an actor, I don't really care, but he really ought to just tell everyone so we can all be done with it.

Looks like I will burn my #99 jersey before this is all said and done. No class.

Someone asks what has staying with the Fish gotten Taylor...how about millions of dollars? The question should be...what has he gotten Miami? All Pro...big deal...that's a popularity contest. Defensive Player of the Year? He got paid handsomely. This game will never get better until we put these boys in their place by making them realize how good they've got it.

hahahaha. This is out of control. Parcells really screwed the pooch on this one - should've taken the 2nd round pick that was offered I guess. As far as the Cincy fan who thinks Brown is doing the right thing with Chad - are you kidding me? He had a FIRST ROUND PICK on the table from the Redskins. What a total boob. Cincy, Brown and Lewis make this astronomical f-up by the Fins llok like like a slight misstep doing the tango. I can always feel that the Fins aren't the biggest laughing stock in the NFL as long as Cincy is around. I mean, what a bunch of clowns. I'd rather take 1-15 again than be a Bungles fan. You'd really have to nurture some serious delusions to like them.

I am a Fins fan for the record and, with the exception of this infantile attitude on the part of Parcell's and now JT, I like what's happening. Too bad the children are fighting.

Now what would REALLY be scary is if the dolphins traded Jason Taylor to the vikings! Could you imagine the destruction that that line was cause??? Jared Allen, Kevin williams, "Big fat Pat" Williams, and Jason taylor reaking havok amongst the league. All I'm saying is.. THAT would be pretty darn scary. Just think about it.

As a Pats fan I don't want him. Also, Belichick, unlike that Rat Mangini who turns on those who've helped him go from ball boy to HC, won't help anyone who's trying to make Parcells look bad. They've made up from the Jets debacle and now are prolly working to tank Mangini....at least I hope they are.

Taylor now quals as turd. Good riddens.

This is all due to Taylor not being able to be traded to his preferred team: The New England Patriots. Bill won't let that happen, for now, but that doesn't mean Taylor can't play hard ball either. This could get good.

JT will never play for another team in the AFC East...Bill Parcells would rather buy JT a rocking chair and get nothing for him.

Similar to what Carl Peterson did to the Fins with Trent Green, Bill Parcells will do with whomever wants JT. He'll get what he wants or will settle with, but rest assured it will have to be of substancial benefit to the Dolphin's organization.

I'm a Bengals fan, and Parcells needs to deal with Taylor the same way Mike Brown is dealing with Chad: Tell him to play or sit out and be fined. Otherwise, being under contract doesn't matter anymore. Players will just do what Chad did and try to force a trade.

What about the Packers? Right now we have Cullen Jenkins at end but he can also play DT and Harrell is hurt which puts us thin at the position. KGB is strictly a 3rd down rusher and Jason Taylor would be just the leader they need on defense to make a strong playoff push. With the Vikings being everyone's "team" to beat in the North because they added Jared Allen, if the Pack add Taylor, the fit would put them right back on top.

As a Pats fan, I'd love to have Taylor, but I would never give up a 1st round pick for a 33 year old guy, no matter how good he is. That's the kind of stuff that gets teams into real trouble.

Why would he want to stay with an organization being run by a guy who typically bails after 2-3 years. I can't blame him. Parcells sealed his fate when he quit on the Patriots during the 2006 Super Bowl and don't think players didn't take notice of that. Besides he's never been able to win the prize without Belichick.

JT will go to NY Giants if Strahan decides to hang it up. He'll be able to pursue his career in entertainment there and hook up with Tiki Barber for some pointers.

The Patriots won't touch him - it would screw up their cap numbers, and they wouldn't give up a #1 for him anyway. You use your #1 to tie up a guy for 5 years - Taylor won't last that long.

"They’d never trade him within the division … but a third-rounder from the Pats?"

LMAO, this is as much wishful thinking as all the Eagles fans saying (on potential trades) "Lito and a 4th"!

Fins reportedly wanted a 1st rounder for him prior ot the draft, and you think now the draft is over Miami will suddenly drop to 3rd??

The Patriots would give up a 1st round pick for Jason Taylor. But Parcells couldnt possibly take the PR hit trading Taylor to a hated division rival.

Jason Taylor to the Patriots would be awesome, but it wont happen.

The Dolphins like trading away quality players to the Chargers for nothing in return. Maybe he can go there. At least he'd be closer to L.A.

I guess the text messages Tony Sorano was sending him were not good luck on DWS but instead to please come to camp. The Fins have lost all leverage in trading him since its obvious he doesn't want to play in Miami.Could you blame him?

Someone needs to grow a pair of grapefruits and decide what direction Jason and the team are going to go in. I mean I love JT and feel we could use his leadership and skills on D, but if we can benefit by filling another hole by trading him I say pull the trigger and get this done. JT has always been a role model, and from what I see his talons are only going to get longer, and BP is only going to get even more upset.....act like 2 grown men and get this resolved already. *side note I think JT can do what he wants on his spare time, but truthfully I think he should have waited till he retired like the rest of the NFL participants. That wasnt too smart of him to do especially at this stage of his career. He gave the Jimmy, Wanny, the Nicktator, and Cam the benefit of the dout yet with BP he's acting like a kid!

Its been well known that this kind of tactic dose not work with Parcells. Parcells is a control freak and Taylor will be treated in much of the same way that Chad Johnson is being treated in Cincy. If JT wants to be traded he should be a little more diplomatic after all Miami did try to trade him before all this got out of hand and I am sure they would work on trading him if he was more cooperative with the team while making it known that he is not interested in another rebuilding project. Parcells might be a jerk but he knows that if a player dose not want to be on the team he is better off traded but when a player uses these kinds of pressure tactics Parcells knows that other players are watching and must set an example to remind the players whos boss.

Taylor knows Miami hasn't gotten better so he wants out. He gave his heart and soul to the Dolphins and what has it got him. He has two more years left in him, why would he want to stay with the Dolphins.

I've lost a lot of respect for JT this offseason. He he becoming another one of those athletes that thinks he's bigger than the team. I hope Parcells does not budge because that and only that will keep his trade value high. If other teams think the Fins are desperate, his value drops, if they think BP is truly willing to let JT retire, then they'll get more for him when they (the Fins) are ready to trade him.
